Runescape Quest Help

Runescape quests are one of the more interesting and enjoyable aspects of Runescape, they keep the game interesting and there is usually a nice little reward at the end whether it be, Runescape gold, items or experience – but let’s face it, who doesn’t at some point or another get to the point in a quest where we could use some help with a Runescape quest in the form of a Runescape quest walkthrough. So I have tried to quickly compile a little review of one of my favorite Runescape quest help sites that has loads of guides and walkthroughs that help you “cheat” just a little bit when you get stuck. Which Quest Help site am I talking about; Rune Tower.

Runescape Quest

The guides have been split into 2 sections, 1 for Freeplay quest guides, meaning that anyone can do them, and another for Members-Only guides that only Members can complete.

Freeplay Quests
Members Quests
You will also notice that, upon completion of each of the quests, you’ll receive a number of Quest Points, which have a number of uses. Firstly, certain guilds including the Champions’ Guild, Heroes’ Guild, and Legends’ Guild, require you to have a certain number of quest points before you can enter. Secondly, the more quest points you have, the higher your “unbalanced trade” limit will be; see the Newcomer Guide for more information. Lastly, when you have completed every quest in the game, you’ll be able to wear a Quest Cape of Achievement.

Runescape, a great game. Millions of people play every day and at the end of the day, everyone enjoys this. There are many arguments about how old you need to be to play Runescape, but all you need to play it is to know how to use a computer. When you start up on Runescape, there is much to do and if you don’t know how to do it, then Runescape NPC’s tell you how. There are only a few reason on why children shouldn’t go on Runescape and I’ll clear them up in this argument.

Firstly, people being rude on Runescape. If a child (say 8 years old for this case) went onto Runescape and saw someone swear on Runescape, it would be good for the child. This is because they don’t learn about any swear words because ALL swear words and any rude words are blocked with the * function. Also, this would be good because they learn about the world around them and how some people are not as nice as others and they will learn about who to make friends with and who not to. Also, children are honest to people. This means that if they see somebody bullying somebody else, they would report it instead of so called ‘cool’ people who find it better to join in. Therefore, in one sense, children would be making Runescape better for children to play on.

The next reason, violence and fighting. I would stop children going onto Runescape if there was blood and gore on the screen while fighting on Runescape, but there isn’t. All that happens when you fight is that you get a number on how many hit-points you took off your opponent. People may argue that because there is fighting in it, children shouldn’t be allowed to play it at all. One day though, they’re going to find out about fighting and what it’s all about. Why can’t it be the day when they go onto Runescape? If violence isn’t the child’s thing, then there is plenty of other things that he/she can do to entertain themselves. For example, the could go fishing or woodcutting. So why should they not be allowed onto the Runescape game?

Finally, children might not understand the concept about Runescape and what you’re meant to do on it. They might not really know what the point in an RPG game is but that doesn’t matter. If they don’t get what the point in Runescape (one of the best MMORPGs ever) then they’ll just stop playing.

In conclusion, I think that children should be allowed to go onto Runescape, but they should be at least into their first year in Primary School so they have friends already so they know which friends to make on Runescape and which people not to make friends with. Also, if they are this age, then they won’t release personal information about themselves.

Underneath the Karamja volcano lies one of RuneScape’s most challenging areas. This entire area is controlled by a powerful and ancient race known as the TzHaar. You can choose to either fight in the dangerous Fight Pits against some of Runescape’s strongest players, or take on the challenge of fighting Runescape’s strongest monsters in the Fight Caves. If you are one of the few who is successful in either of these challenges, you will be rewarded with Tokkul, which you can redeem for an impressive range of new and unique equipment, such as new weapons, a new shield , new jewellery, capes, ores, runes, and a new gem you can buy from the local stores!

Finding your way to the area is easily achieved. The easiest way to get there is to use a Amulet of Glory to teleport to Karamja and then walk to the volcano. You can also get there via the boats that leave Ardougne and Port Sarim. Once you enter the volcano, you will see a cave entrance — this is the entrance to the TzHaar Caves.

Walking through the area you will encounter many of the TzHaar creatures. These can be killed to obtain Tokkuls, or if you’re lucky, they will drop one of the new weapons. You will find a variety of shops in the TzHaar Caves. This is the only place you will find a shop that sells the new weapons, unless you can find a player selling them. However, please remember that the shops in the TzHaar Caves will only accept Tokkuls as payment. As we’ve mentioned, you can kill some of the TzHaar creatures to get some Tokkuls, or you can sell some runes to the local rune shop to get Tokkuls in return. You will also notice Sulphur vents in quite a few locations — these can be used to cook your food.

The Fight Pits
The Fight Pits is a place where the TzHaar race holds daily contests to find the strongest warrior, and players are offered the chance to fight in a free-for-all competition against their peers to determine this! The Fight Pits are found on the Western side of the caves — just go to the bank and keep walking to the West.

If you’re planning on fighting against combat level 100+ players, you might want to take some food and some worthy equipment. Well, if you want to win, that is. If you die in the Fight Pits you will not lose any items, and you will not be teleported to Lumbridge. Instead, you’ll simply be teleported back to the waiting area. Whilst in the Fight Pits, you will notice a list of how many players are still alive and the name of the previous at the top of your screen. You can also identify the champion by a red skull above his or her head(see picture below). Some players will attempt to hide in the corners — this can buy you some time, but eventually you will be found.

When you are teleported back to the waiting room, you can still watch the players fighting by clicking on the viewing orb. This will give you a view of the Fight Pits. You can also choose which section of the Pits you want to look at by clicking the menu on the right.

Fight Pit Strategies

Although the goal of the Fight Pits is fairly simple, achieving this can be quite a task. If you attempt to win fighting solo you will be killed very quickly regardless of your level. Whilst waiting for the fight to begin, it is generally fairly easy to join a team. Simply look for other people who have a similar combat level, and ask them if they want to team up. Having a mage on your team will also greatly increase your chances of winning. On the world select page, Jagex suggests Worlds 79 and 148 to find other interested players.

The Fight Caves
The Fight Caves is the ultimate player vs beast challenge for RuneScape’s strongest players. It consists of battling countless monsters, ranging from level 22 all the way up to the level 702 TzTok-Jad! If you wish to complete this activity successfully, you will need to have high combat skills. A suggested setup is provided below, however this will vary depending on your character’s levels.

As this activity can take multiple hours to complete; Jagex added an option to log out without losing your progress. To do this, click the logout button once at any time during a ‘wave’. You will get a message in your chat window that your logout request has been saved and you will automatically be logged out after the current wave. If you click logout again (twice), you will lose your place in the game and will have to start over. Next time you log in to your account, you will still be in the Fight Cave and the next wave of monsters will start. It is safe to log out during the waves of level 360s or even before Jad; this is because monsters will spawn after a few seconds have passed, but beware, you will not have a lot of time. If you do disconnect during this activity, there’s no need to worry as it will save your progress and will start you at the beginning of the wave that you disconnected on.

Setup

Ring of Life is not recommended, as this is a safe activity, and while wearing it in this activity, it loses its ability to teleport you when it normally would.

The Monsters
Tzhaar Fight Cave monsters.
Pic Monster name Level Description
Tz-Kih 22 This monster does not hit hard, but watch out, they drain one prayer point every time they hit! Kill them before they can reach you if possible!
Tz-kek 45 Any time this monster is attacked with melee, you will get hit back 10 (LP) damage; to avoid this, range or mage it. It will also spawn two Tz-kek (lvl 22) monsters when it dies.
Tz-kek -2- 22 This is the spawn of the tz-kek (level 45) and it’s good for healing on (with a Saradomin godsword or Guthan’s set special).
Tok-Xil 90 This beast attacks with ranged and melee; both attacks can hit accurately, therefore, killing it is a priority.
Yt-mej kot 180 This monster uses melee attacks hitting around 250 damage. It will also heal itself so watch your life points if you’re in close combat.
Ket-Zek 360 This monster uses magic and melee attacks which can hit very high often, so pray protect from magic and stay out of it’s melee range. The only sensible way to kill it is with ranged, magic or halberd.
TzTok-Jad 702 The big kahuna, the monster of all monsters. It uses melee, magic and range attacks which can hit in the high 900s. Killing it requires a unique strategy not seen before in Runescape, covered below.

The Monster Waves
Killing a level 702 is far too easy a feat to be worthy of the Fire Cape. Not only must you do this, but you must battle through 62 waves of attacks from lower level monsters before even getting a chance at TzTok-Jad. To see the list of monster levels for each wave, click the “show” link below.

Hide/Show:

Here is the following list of monster waves, listed simply by their level. Be sure to know which monster is which level before trying to use this. The list is broken up into sections before new monsters are to be introduced. You will notice that there will be 2 identical monsters of the highest level before a new subseries of waves starts.

This list is meant as a guideline primarily. At times, after killing a monster in a wave, it will respawn and you will have to kill it again to complete the wave. If you are playing with the RuneScape music on, you will be able to hear a sound that notifies you each time a wave is complete, in case you are unsure.

Strategies and Tactics
The following strategies and tactics assume that you will be using the suggested inventory above. There is a suggested order in which you should kill each monster, listed by level, from first to last:

level 22 – Unless they’re blocked
level 90
level 360
level 180 – Make sure they’re blocked
level 45
Getting to the 90’s

Getting to the level 90’s is not hard at all. Just kill each level 22 fast so they don’t drain much prayer, and very minimal, or zero damage will be taken.

Getting to the 180’s

It gets a little harder here, but it still isn’t too bad. The level 90’s can do some damage, so pray ranged against them and kill them fast; a Saradomin godsword or Enhanced excalibur’s special should heal any damage taken. When you see two level 90’s, the coming waves will have the level 180’s.

Getting to the 360’s

Here is where knowledge of safe-spotting is needed. The most popular area to safe-spot monsters is the eastern area. Many users have named it “italy” or the “boot”, because of how it looks on your mini map.

Safe-spotting enables you to kill them without needing to pray melee. To do this, stand next to the wall and the bigger monsters will get stuck on the edge. Once the level 90’s start coming you can pray ranged and kill the 180’s first, or lure them both over. Do this by standing as far east as you can; to get the level 90 closer, then use long ranged to stay out of the 180’s attacking range and kill the level 90. After killing two level 180’s in the same wave start praying magic; you’re now at the level 360’s.

Getting to the boss

Now it’s time to beast your way through many level 360’s; keep protect from magic prayer on almost the entire time, unless you kill a 360 before other monsters. When the the level 45’s start to appear, do not bother with them until after the level 360 is killed. When the 90’s appear you won’t be able to protect ranged, so kill them first.

When the 180’s appear, you can trap them behind a level 360 (don’t get into anyone’s melee range), or use the same tactic as before; mentioned in the ‘Getting to the 360’s’ section. The most important things to remember is to keep magic prayer on, kill the 90’s fast and keep the 180’s trapped!

Once you’re on wave 62, the two level 360’s; kill off one and lure the other to the northeast corner. Then stop, clam your nerves the best you can, and finish it off; you’re now on wave 63, level 702 TzTok-Jad…

Killing the boss

Before the big guy spawns, turn range prayer on and stand along the “boot” (the partition that looks like Italy or a boot). Depending what side he comes from, he will either attack you from the distance, or get stuck on the other side of the “boot”. If you’re attacked, run forward until you can see Jad, to start using the right prayers.

Jad has three attacks, melee, ranged and magic; he will only use ranged and magic if you’re standing at a distance. Since each of his attacks can hit in the high 900’s, it’s almost impossible to tank his attacks; which is why you need to use prayer. But to use prayer, you need to learn what each of his attacks look like.

Attack Description
Ranged Jad will raise his two front legs and slam them on the ground, after a second or two, rocks will fall from the air.
Magic Jad will bow his head briefly and a fire ball will come out.
Melee No animation will forewarn you of this attack, so it’s wise to stay out of melee range. He will slash his right claw at you.

Once you recognize one of Jad’s attacks, it is important you turn on the appropriate prayer immediately. If you fail to, there is a good chance you will be hit as high as 970 damage. Once Jad gets to about half his health, healers (level 108) will come to heal him. You will need to attack them, by turning on long ranged and shooting each one. If you kill them, they will respawn shortly after. They can do a fair amount of damage so it may be wise to turn on a defence boosting prayer.

Once all the healers are attacking you, finish off Jad and you will earn yourself a Fire Cape!

The fire cape
If you get this far, we offer our congratulations for killing one of the strongest monsters in Runescape alone! For your efforts, you will be rewarded with a beautiful rare fire cape.

The cape is untradeable so only the very strongest and bravest players own them. Wear yours proudly, and show everyone what kind of warrior you really are!

Players with 93 Slayer can be assigned Ice strykewyrms by Kuradal. A fire cape is required to kill an Ice strykewyrm, unless you purchase a special ability from a slayer master.

Treasure Trails Menu

Treasure trails are one of things in RuneScape that will give you hours of fun. You don’t have the slightest idea what kind of treasure you’ll get, or when you’ll get it. If you like adventures, be sure to do some treasure trails. Treasure trails are members only, but some of the rewards can be used by both F2P’ers and P2P’ers.

Due to the massive amount of content involved with Treasure Trails, information has been grouped by clue scroll type. Choose the guide relevant to the type of clue scroll you would like to learn more about. If you do not know which type of clue scroll you have, we have provided a brief definition of each scroll type below.

Which Type of Clue do I have?
If you do not know which type of clue you have, we have provided a brief definition of each type of clue scroll available:

Anagram: Anagram clues look like gibberish, but sometimes it can look like a strange phrase as well. These clues are actually the names of different non-player characters that you see around RuneScape that have had their letters mixed up.
Challenges: These clues are often simple math equations or a task telling you to count certain objects in RuneScape.
Coordinates: When you get a coordinates clue, it will say something like “04 degrees, 13 minutes North, 12 degrees, 45 minutes East”. These clues require you to have a watch, sextant and chart in your inventory.
Elite: Elite (level 4) clue scrolls have three exclusive clue types that will only appear at this level scroll. You have an elite clue scroll if:
nothing but a compass appears as the clue (Magic Compass)
an orb is attached to your clue (Orb Scan)
a puzzle with runes on three different tracks is on the scroll (Celtic Knot). See the Puzzle page for assistance with this one.
Uri’s Emotes: You know you have this clue when you get a scroll that asks you to wear a variety of strange clothes, go to a specific area and perform an emote.
Maps: Map clues are easy to identify. They are actual drawn maps with an X marking where you must dig. There may also be a series of steps to take marked on the map.
NPC Locations: NPCs, or Non-Player Characters, are the people who show up as yellow dots on your minimap. Some clues tell you to speak with one of the many NPCs in RuneScape.
Puzzles: There are two types of puzzles. One is a sliding puzzle which requires that you slide different squares around one at a time in order to unscramble a picture. Another type of puzzle is the Celtic knot, where you must align runes in order to unlock your next task.
Riddles: Riddle clues require you to figure out the true meaning of a strange phrase. They often require that you have a decent knowledge of RuneScape and the people within.
Search: Search clues are simple clues that say, for example, “Crate, Burthrope”. They only state a searchable thing like a sack, a chest or even drawers and then a vague location within RuneScape.

Celtic Knot Puzzles
Celtic knot puzzles are only available to level 4 clue scrolls. You will have to move three tracks (blue, grey and red) until every intersection has a matching rune on the top and bottom of the interlacing tracks. When two of the same runes are on top of each other because the rune is the same on both intersecting tracks, a green ring will appear on the rune. A red ring means there are different runes on two intersecting tracks. The goal of this puzzle is to have green rings at every intersection. Below are a view visual examples in the form of an image and a video which will help you understand the puzzle enough to solve it.

You can move the tracks clockwise or anticlockwise by clicking on the relevant arrow. Once all intersections have matching runes, press ‘Unlock’ and you will have completed the puzzle.

An unfinished and a finished puzzle

Hints:
Log out to reset the puzzle, if necessary.
Use the ‘Invert Paths’ button by hovering over it to view what is on the track beneath the visible track.
Do not look at all the tracks at a time. This will make the puzzle seem too difficult. If you focus on getting two tracks to line up correctly first, then it won’t take much to match up the third track.
You can use trial and error, or the “brute force method” to solve this puzzle. Keep the grey track locked in place and keep cycling through on another track until all intersections match up. If this doesn’t work, continuing by moving the grey track one place ahead then cycling through the other track once more. Eventually, this will solve the puzzle for you. Then simply move the cycle through the final track until the intersections turn to green rings. To see this method in practical use, please refer to the video below.

runescape money

There are many ways to make money on Runescape, from making bars to player killing. The only thing that stands between you and the money is “you”. The only way to receive the money is by building a skill in which you like, the area that you like, and the amount you need to collect. Without these three, this equation or article would have not existed. So by now you must have questions like, “How do I build a skill?” or “where do I begin? Well you should begin with the basics, the equipment.

Would you go to the wilderness without a sword? When building a skill, if you do not have the equipment you are nothing. If you like woodcutting: keep an axe, mining: always keep a pickaxe, smithing: you need ores and a furnace, and fighting: your sword is your best friend. (This will not go over fighting skills; I will soon write a paper for that and how to train fast if you are a non member.)

The first skill that is in the list of nonmember skills is woodcutting. This skill is one of the only skills that gain experience quickly and easily. The trees that you can chop depend on you level, and the cost of the logs depend on how rare the tree. If the logs are rare you get the more money you will get. If you are a level 1(tree) woodcutter the best place to start is at the grand exchange, where are a lot of trees for beginners. Also you may sell the logs or bank them for another use. For level 10- 20 (dead tree and oak) woodcutters, cut oaks in Falador and use the bank at your advantage. To the south there will be two oak logs cut them and bank them, it is easy and I found it affective for me. For level 30-60 woodcutters (willows) there are two choices you may make, bank for sell or drop for experience. If you want to sell go to Draynor village to cut willows to bank them, if you want to chop and drop go to Lumbridge and cut at one willow tree. To do the chop and drop method, you must avoid getting your inventory full. The solution for this is when the tree is gone drop as much as you can before the willow reappears. For level 60 (yews) the best place to cut yews if you just reached this level is Port Sarium. You cannot miss it there is one yew tree, best place for any level woodcutting; to make this less of a hassle you need to be able to teleport to Verrock. The closest bank for the yew tree close to Port sarium is in Draynor Village. You may run back and forth or just walk; it takes a while for the tree to respawn. Another area that has 4 yew trees is at Remington;

RuneScape Defence

In the world of RuneScape, defence (labelled defence in-game) is the skill that determines the amount of base protection that a character has in combat. Naturally, this is supplemented by the equipment that the player wears. However, basic defence actually contributes to the player’s combat level, no matter which of the three combat disciplines they chose.

Defence also determines the quality and type of the armor that a player can equip – from the basic level one bronze armor to the level 80 for the Dungeoneering Shields. Contrary to the norm in other games, the defence level in RuneScape reduces how often you receive less damage, rather than the amount of damage you receive per hit.

Within the game, there are those players who have decided to dedicate themselves to the pursuit of defensive perfection; these members are known as defence Pures. The main attributed factor to fighting defensively is the long drawn-out battles that are exceedingly common for those who specialize in defence.

This main attribute is also the reason why many people dislike training as defence Pures, though there are players who achieve level 99 defence without improving their constitution through the use of Soul Wars and other methods of leveling (such as experience lamps and Penguin Hide and Seek).

How Important is RuneScape Defence?
If the thought of confounding your enemies as they try to hit you appeals to you in any way, or the lure of wearing the toughest, baddest armor around lights a fire within your heart, then you will probably want to look at improving your defence level, and the best way to do this is by using a defensive attack style in combat.

The defensive style of combat is the way in which you train your defence levels. In order to select this battle mode, you need to head to the Combat Styles tab which is just to the left of the Stats tab and then pick the combat style that says “defensive” when you hover over it with the mouse cursor.

Runescape Attack and Strength with Defense
At this point, it should be mentioned that for those of you out there who are uncomfortable with trusting solely to defence to see you through those difficult fights, there is an alternative style: the controlled style, which will give a minor boost to your defence skill. However, the controlled style splits the experience earned between the Attack and Strength skills, as well as defence, so it would be a much more efficient way to level up your defence skill by simply bearing with it and focusing on it. Keep in mind that the higher your defence, the greater the amount of enemy attacks you can block.

If you are planning on playing any sort of melee character within RuneScape you need to have a decently high defence level. After all, if you want to live long enough to dish out the pain, you have to be able to avoid a few hits.

In the interest of fairness, it should be noted that it is possible to play RuneScape from a purely aggressive standpoint and neglect defence completely, and that there are ‘melee- pure’ players within the game world whose defence remains at level one while their Attack and Strength levels go off the charts.

The theory behind this style of play is that between two players of comparable combat levels – one who focused on defence and the other who was a ‘melee-pure’ character – the ‘melee-pure’ character would have a high enough attack level to deal with the defensive player regardless of their defence level, or would quite simply do an extremely high amount of damage despite not hitting as often.

In general, though, most players prefer to train their defence skills to at least level 40 so as to enable the wearing of Rune Armor and so as to have the absolute rudiments of defensive skill. After all, getting hit just isn’t any fun.

Players using the cooking and the farming skills make brewed Beers. Basically, there are four steps to Brewing your own beer.
These are:

1. Fill the Vat in a Brewery with 2 buckets of water.
2. Put 2 Barley Malts (cook a Barley on a Range) in the Vat.
3. Place your main ingredient in the Vat.
4. Pour a pot of Ale Yeast into the Vat.

Therefore, As you can see, there are many different beers in Runescape, and this is not including Gnome Drinks, Quest Drinks, and others!

A couple more include Brandy, Gin, Vodka, Whiskey, and Grog. When Jagex introduced player brewable drinks, I would have never guessed it would have become this wide of a topic. The downside to brewing your own beers is that it does take a long time for them to be ready. Often it can take up to 24 hours. Therefore, if you are not a patient person, brewing beers is not for you. Happy Playing!
