Price Guide
READ FIRST:
These are the prices that I have seen on the market recently. They are
constantly changing so PLEASE make sure you know what you are buying
and the CURRENT market price. Use this only to help you get familiar with
items and the price that I consider to be the value now. If something is not
listed then either it is a new item, or I do not know enough about that item
to post here.

Hot/Cold Items
Please Note: This list is accurate at the time this guide was last updated.
You should familiarize yourself with the current market trends because they
will vary.
HOT ITEMS (quick moving items) You can sell these quickly on the forums
and you can make a quick profit:
•All Ores: Iron, Mith, Addy and Rune have all seen an increase in
interest recently. Since the last update these have started to rise!
•Magic logs. These can always be sold pretty quickly for a nice profit!
•All bars will sell and usually sell quickly. Steel and above are the best.
Steel can be an excellent money maker because a lot of people buy
and sell in it in bulk. Try to buy these for around 250 -350 gp each and
resell them for 500 to 600 gp each. Mith bars will move very quickly
along with Addy. You can often find people on forums selling steel
bars in bulk.
•Arrows. All arrows have picked up interest with the addition of more
ranging equipment and armor.

•Bones. Big Bones and Dragon Bones will move extremely quickly.
•Hides. If you are a member keep your eye open for dragon hides being
sold. They can make you a quick profit.
•Party hats! These have started to go up again. Watch for them to
double or triple in price by the middle of this summer!
•Any item that people can raise there crafting on (silver, hides &
gems).
•Herbs. I never used to merchant these but now they are great. Buy
unids and resell them, or ID them and they typically will sell for more
than you paid for them.
•Prayer and Anti-Fire pots. These have gone up a lot since the new
dungeon update.
•Drag med, dragon squares, legs, chains have raised a little. These
should sell quickly.
SLOW ITEMS (slow moving items):
•Trimmed armor.
•Rune Armor and weapons.
•Many runes. There are just too many of these out there. Nats are the
only ones that will really sell well.
•Most low level treasure trial items. Headbands, pirates hat, highway
man mask, etc.
An Example of What to Merchant and How To Go About It
One of the biggest profit items is iron ore. Buy iron ore for around 25 to
50 gp each. This is very easy to buy and is very plentiful. Hire iron ore
miners and pay them 35 gp each. You could ultimatley have 15 iron ore
miners that bring around 25000 – 50000 iron ore per week. Pay them their
paychecks each Friday. If you get 40000 iron ore in a particular week, you
end up paying your miners 1.4 million gp for 40000 iron (35 gp a piece).
Then take all the iron ore and sell it for 100 gp each to other players. 40000
times 100 gp each equals 4 million gp. You can make a profit of 2.6 million
gp from 15 iron ore miners using this method.
Another Example of What to Merchant
Coal is generally sold for over 120 gp ea but you can often buy it for for
about 100gp ea. Lets say you buy a lot of coal at 100gp ea and get about
1000 coal. What happens then – well, by selling it in bulk the price bumps up

to 150+ gp ea. By buying 1000 coal for 100 gp ea and selling it for at 150 gp
ea you can make a 50k profit in a matter of minutes. Coal is usually sold in
Falador and it is usually in plentiful supply there. You may have to be
patient because sometimes there are no sellers willing to sell it for under
115 gp ea. Stick around because if no one else is buying they should agree
to lower their price (you may have to haggle with them a little – see the
Negotiating Tip earlier in this guide). As for selling of the coal, it is best to
go to some of the more populated Worlds like World 1 or 4 and stand in
Falador East Bank – most people go there to sell ores. Even if you are not a
member, you can look in the forums for people buying coal – generally they
prefer to buy in bulk and are happy to pay good prices.
Need Another Example?
Runes. I personally am in favor of merchanting Rune Essence right now as
well as Chaos and Death Runes. You can purchase Chaos Runes for 90 gp ea
from shops and Death Runes at 180gp ea from shops. On the street, players
buy Chaos Runes for 150+gp ea and pay 250+ gp ea for Death Runes. It
takes some time to do but that’s almost 100 percent profit! As for Rune
Essence – to get alot of Rune Essence in a short amount of time, go to a semi
populated world and stand in Varrock East Bank and buy Essence. You must
be firm with the price unless the seller can offer you a really high quanity
(like 700+) in which case you can pay a bit more. Now let’s just say you buy
20k Essence for 20 gp ea (that’s 400k total cost) and once again look in
forums or go to World 1 and find buyers who are prepared to pay 35+ gp ea.
Let’s do the maths and workout your potential profit – you spent 400k on
the 20k Essence and you sold it for 35gp ea. Thats 700k total revenue and
300k profit! You can make 300k profit in about an hour if there are a lot of
people selling it (it might take you an over an hour depending on the time of
day).
