Today, we’ve released a development diary about the upcoming ‘rest’ feature. Given that we’ve already released an…accidental teaser, we thought we’d give you some more insight into the design process for this small but useful feature, which I hope you’ll all end up using.

Tale of the Muspah

Experienced adventurers will be familiar with Fremennik rites of passage, and the difficulties they present. It’s little wonder, then, that Fremennik children are always on the lookout for an easier path to adulthood, and Erjolf is no exception. Full of enthusiasm but short on skills, Erjolf will need your assistance if he is going to impress his kinsfolk.

Join him in his quest for a trophy, unravel the puzzling story behind a curious corpse, and discover the dark secrets of one of the most fearsome races to ever walk in Gielinor. You may find one or two useful allies along the way, who are willing to lend a helping hand.

It’s been great to work on a quest that involves one of RuneScape’s most mysterious races, and develop a plotline that’s been around since the early days of RuneScape. This is the first part of a new quest series, and paves the way for following quests.

Therefore, As you can see, there are many different beers in Runescape, and this is not including Gnome Drinks, Quest Drinks, and others!

A couple more include Brandy, Gin, Vodka, Whiskey, and Grog. When Jagex introduced player brewable drinks, I would have never guessed it would have become this wide of a topic. The downside to brewing your own beers is that it does take a long time for them to be ready. Often it can take up to 24 hours. Therefore, if you are not a patient person, brewing beers is not for you. Happy Playing!

Runescape Banks

The Runescape Banking system can do a lot more than just hold your items. However, because you are only allowed 28 slots for items, the bank offers some extra space for your items. This can come in handy if you want to keep some valuable items. If you die, you will only be able to keep three of your best items on you at the time, unless you have the prayer that allows you to keep one extra item. Even if you do keep one extra, that’s still only 4 out of 28. When you bank your items, you protect them from being lost.

You can also store up items that are not normally stackable. For example, if you mine 28 rune essences, then you bank them, they are not going to take up 28 slots in the bank, instead they will take up one slot and stack up. Any item can be stacked in the bank, from Bronze Bars to Dragon Long Swords. This is good because Free to Play members do not have hundreds of slots like the Pay to Play members do. Free to Play does not have nearly as many items though, so they do not need all that space.

Speaking of stackables, you can also withdraw items in “noted” form. This allows your non-stackable items to stack up in your inventory as notes. This is helpful when selling mass quantities of items. Instead of having to make loads of trips to the Grand Exchange, you can make one with all your items noted. If you buy items and they are noted, you can put them into the bank, and withdraw them again (without the noted symbol checked), and you will have the actual items. Noted Items are a great addition to the Runescape Banks, and they help so much with buying and selling.

Now, if you are worried about your account being hacked, you can always make a Bank Pin number. Your Bank Pin number is a four-digit code of your choice that you have to enter when you access your bank account for the first time after logging in. This is also an excellent addition to the Runescape Banks, because it protects your items even if your DO get hacked. If you are worried about key loggers stealing your Bank Pin, worry no longer. The Bank Pin system is built so that each time a number is entered, the key pad arrangement changes. This is so if you do get a key logger, they still cannot get your Bank Pin number.

As you can see, Runescape Banks offer players many different options to help them. As an added bonus, they have now added tabs to the banks. These can be used to organize your bank so you do not have to search through all of your items to find just one. If you thought that the Runescape Banking system was just for storing items, I bet this was a big surprise to you. Runescape Banks are very easy to use, even with all of the fancy additions. I cannot wait to see what Jagex is going to put in next. Haha, Happy Banking!

If you are a free to play member, I am sure you have realized that it is not as easy for non-members to make money. Members have all the great stuff to sell. This does not mean you CAN’T make money if you’re not a pay to play member. It simply means that it is harder. Although there are only a few good ways, this does not mean that there are none.

Cabbage is rumored to be a good way to make money. Personally, I do not believe that it is. Most say there are three easy steps to making money with cabbages. This is not true. There are really 5, and these are:

1. Head on over to the cabbage patch by the Draynor Manor

2. Pick as many cabbages as you can

3. Bank them at the Draynor Bank

4. Repeat 1-3 until you have a lot of cabbages

5. Sell them on the Grand Exchange

Supposedly, the cabbages from Draynor are worth more than others, I am not sure, but I doubt it. In addition, it takes a long time for them to sell. I tested this theory and I only gained around 150 gp. It was defiantly one of the slowest sells I have done on the Grand Exchange. If you are serious about doing this, I would suggest doing the Lumbridge/Draynor development diary so that you can teleport to the runescape cabbage patch using the ring.

Honestly, I think the cabbage method is a waste of time. If you spent that time fishing, you could make three to four times the amount of money. There are NO instant ways to make money. Unless you have an item of value already and sell it. If you are looking for some super fast and easy way to make millions, then you will be searching for a long time. I have played Runescape for years and have not found a single method that is instant. There are, however, plenty of ways to make money that are not instant. Most you need a high skill level to do though. That’s why you should decide what you want to do, then focus on building the levels on it. Once you reach a high enough level, you can begin raking in the cash. ALWAYS save the items, you get while you’re training. Even if you only get 100 gp for something, that’s 100 gp richer than you were.

If you are training your mining, and you are buying the pickaxes as you level up, save them. Once you reach the Rune Pickaxe, you can sell all of your older pickaxes and get some money back. In addition, save the ore you mine. You would be surprised how much money you could get.

So there you have it. The complete guide on how to make money with cabbages. It is a very simple method to make money with, and as such, you do not get as much money. Not that it’s completely bad, some people swear by it. It’s just about finding the right method for you. Once you find the method that fits you, the money will start pouring in. My method is fishing, it is just so fun, and the people are very friendly. Happy Playing!

I am sure that all of us have been somewhere, when all of a sudden someone shouts out something in a different color. This can be very confusing if you do not know how to do it yourself. Well, I am here today to teach you how to make colored words in Runescape.

It really is not that hard. They are very simple and easy commands that are so short you probably will never forget them. Before I get into all of the different commands, let me first tell you how to enter them. It must always go as followed:

Color:Movement:Message.

If you do it any other way, it will not work. Also, make sure there are no spaces in between your commands. Otherwise, it will not work. Other than that, it is very simple. Since colors come first, lets start with them.

There are six main colors that you can choose from, and they are:

(Default color) Yellow:
Red:
Green:
Cyan:
Purple:
White:

Runescape Color Text
If you were to take any of these and put it before your message, they would turn it that color, such as if I was to type -
red: Selling Cut Ruby!

The message would be red, and would say “Selling Cut Ruby!” There are 6 other color effects as well. They do various color changes in one message. These are:

Flash1: Flashes between red and yellow
Flash2: Flashes between cyan and blue
Flash3: Flashes between light and dark green
Glow1: Message fades from red, to orange, to yellow, to green, to cyan
Glow2: Message fades from red, to magenta, to blue, to dark red, to red
Glow3: Message fades from white, to green, to white, to cyan

Other Runescape Color Words
These effects can be great to catch someone’s eye when selling an item. Along with these effects, you also have movement commands you can use. They are:

Scroll: Message scrolls from right to left.
Shake: Message shakes bizarrely.
Wave: Message moves up and down.
Wave2: Message waves diagonally.
Slide: Message slides from up to down.

A combination of both the movements and the colors can make a really interesting message, if I was to type glow2:wave2:Hey everyone, look at my cool message!

Then the message would wave diagonally, along with fade colors from red, to magenta, to blue, to dark red, and then to red. These codes can make all the more difference if you are trying to sell things in a very crowded place. Although the Grand Exchange has cleared out a lot of the crowded banks that does not mean that there are still not places where people go to sell things. Therefore, if you are one of those that still stand in crowded areas trying to sell your items, these commands can help you greatly. For the most part, these commands are only used for fun now though. The Grand Exchanges lets buyers have their items a lot faster without having to bank hop, world hop, and haggle with other players. It makes buying and selling much easier and faster.

A lot of times people fishing at Catherby will use these commands to make fish scroll across the screen. They do this by typing “flash2:scroll:< < <” and this will make a line of fish appear and disappear. It keeps things fun, and as we all know, when you are hording, it can get boring.

In Runescape, there are many monsters that you can train your attack on. The monster that you want to kill decides where to train at. You cannot first pick the place and then start fighting, because you might end up with a monster that is 40 levels above you. You need to train your attack on a monster that is of a low level, gives a fair amount of experience, and does not hit hard. I suggest fighting Goblins.

You can kill about six of them in the time it takes to kill a Minotaur. Almost every time, faster is better. Because if you can kill say, 10 of one monster that gives you 5 experience every time you kill it, as opposed to killing 2 of these monsters for only 15 each, your going to go with the Goblins. That’s 50 experience for the first monster, and only 30 for the second. This means more experience in the same amount of time.

More experience means faster levels, and I have not met a person who does not want to level up fast. In fact, most people cannot level up fast enough! A lot of people want all the rewards without the hard work, and that is why we have macros in Runescape. My advice is to find a good monster to train on, and just keep training. Yes, it will be boring, but in the end its worth it when you get to wield that Dragon Long Sword. Haha, Happy Playing!

You know the feeling. You join RuneScape and you offer ridiculously low prices for items, because you don’t have enough money. Then, you are called a newb or a noobie by the other players. To gain respect and fame in the world of Runescape, you need to be wealthy and powerful. And power comes with money. So, in essence- all you need a good supply of gold, but that is easier said than done. We’ll explore some ways to get free gold, and some extremely easy ways to get gold.

» First, many websites claim to get you free gold if you enter a credit card number with no obligations. This is a FRAUD. They will charge you extravagant amounts and you will get no gold. You may as well purchase gold rather than falling for these schemes. However, you can get gold to refer people to these sites. For example, if you refer 10 people to RSloads.com you will get 10K. It actually works, and it’s a fairly easy method. These ten people just have to express interest in the site.

» There are some ways to get gold that are against the JagX terms of service. We don’t recommend or endorse these methods, but you can find them with a simple Google search. Some of these programs are called hacks, autoers, or macros. They make your player play for you automatically, and you just need to leave the program running and your computer on. These programs can increase your levels quickly and generate gold and items for you in a painless fashion

» You can also get easy gold with various tasks. When you’re starting out, you need to complete quests, get raw materials, or work for someone else or an automated character. For example, there is a place where you have to load bananas into crates, and you get 30 gold for each completed crate. This is the easiest ‘legal’ way to get gold. You can mine rune and metals or cut down trees or complete quests.

» Once you have some gold to start off with you can start a business. Basically, you will buy materials in bulk at cheap prices. Then, you will resell them at higher prices. To get the best prices for bulk buying, go to less populated worlds. When you are selling, go to world 1. Over there, the prices are always extremely high because of the scarcity of items and the amount of players that connect to that server. Eventually, as you work your way up, you’ll need to make some constant business contacts. It takes time and effort to find a new buyer and a new seller each time you need cash. With pre-established customer and vendor relationships, you can easily generate gold in the minimum amount of time.

Remember that the best way to get gold is to work for it. You’ll feel the great feeling of making your own cash, but often, if you use automated software and ‘illegal’ methods, you will lose interest in the game. Remember that the point of the game is to have fun. Good luck, and remember that this guide is here to get you through.
