Congratulations on getting a Runescape membership! Pay to Play (P2P) offers a huge new universe for members to explore, including tons of cities, dungeons, monsters, skills, quests, money-making, and more!
This guide will discuss some new travel possibilities, recommend some quests that are helpful to new members, address starting each of the new member skills available (Agility, Construction, Farming, Fletching, Herblore, Slayer and Thieving), and discuss other member features encountered while becoming acquainted with the wider domain of Runescape P2P.
If you are new to the world of Runescape in general, you may also want to look at Tip.It’s Beginners’ Guide, which contains basic information about the game that applies to both Free To Play (F2P) and P2P.
When reviewing the many helpful Tip.It guides, be reminded: as a member, the “shaded” members items in tables are available to you!Return to Top
Getting Around and New Areas to Explore
The Runescape P2P surface land is many times larger than Free to Play (F2P): see Tip.It’s 1.4MB interactive World Map. New members may want to keep a map handy for quick reference while becoming familiar with new areas.
Enchanted jewellery transports are a significant member advantage. The Getting Around Guide lists the various methods of transportation available in Runescape, most of which are exclusive to members. The Gnome gliders and Spirit trees both have quest requirements, as do many others.
An early issue confronting new members is “How do I get to the member areas?” On Karamja, just walk west to the Brimhaven gate. Then you can head north and pay 30 gp to take the ship to Ardougne, home of the Market Square thieving area.
From Falador, just walk west of Doric’s house to pass through the member gate into Taverly.
Alternatively, from the Crafting Guild southwest of Falador, walk north through the member gate next to the Makeover Mage to head towards Taverly (past the famous “Member” Dungeon).
The Fishing Contest quest will allow you to bypass climbing over White Wolf Mountain (with its’ many hostile level 30+ wolves) when travelling between Taverly and Catherby.
The Priest in Peril quest unlocks the Morytania region (east of Varrock).
The Death Plateau quest unlocks the Troll Stronghold area north of Burthorpe.
The Lost City quest unlocks the fairy city of Zanaris, home of the Cosmic runecrafting altar.
Starting the Giant Dwarf quest unlocks Keldagrim, underground home of the dwarves.
Starting the In Aid of the Myreque quest unlocks Burgh de Rott, a city in Morytania.
The Regicide quest unlocks the elven land of Tirannwn, but it’s the fourth in a quest series which starts with the Plague City quest.Return to Top
Skills
The members-only skills are Agility, Construction, Farming, Fletching, Herblore, Slayer and Thieving.
To start training Agility, go to the Tree Gnome Stronghold Agility course. Agility is helpful for short cuts which get you around faster, and in numerous quests. With increased Agility, you also have more energy so you can run longer (good for getting places, and an advantage in the Wilderness!) Run energy is discussed in the Getting Around Guide. You can improve your run energy by getting some boots of lightness from the Temple of Ikov north of the Ardougne farming patches (the quest is not required) – simply take a lit candle and a slashing weapon (such as a dagger or sword) into the temple, then go west and down the stairs. Slash the web in front of the only red dot in the room, and grab several pairs of the boots to keep backups. Agility is the only member skill that works in Free to Play (F2P) worlds – your run energy will deplete slower in F2P as well as P2P.
To start training the long-awaited Construction skill, go to an Estate Agent office in Varrock, Falador, Seers’ Village, or East Ardougne (locations shown in guide). Purchase a house for 1K, and follow the Construction Beginner’s Guide Walkthrough for step by step instructions to achieve level 5. Use Tip.It’s handy, unique and sortable Construction Table to learn what you can build at each level, including the materials and other requirements for each item.
To start Farming, you need some potato seeds. Go to Draynor Village market square and buy some seeds from Olivia’s stall (or steal them if your Thieving is 10 or higher). Then go northwest to the farm located north of Port Sarim’s bar, just southeast of Falador. Inside you can buy most of the Farming equipment you will need (a Seed dibber, a Rake, and a Watering can) for very little money (less than 100 gp). Fill your Watering can at the Sink or Rain barrel. Proceed north outside and hop the stile to the farming patch, then follow the instructions in Tip.It’s Farming guide to plant your first crop.
Fletching isn’t hard to begin – just get a regular Knife and some Logs and use the Knife on the Logs. To make Bowstrings, pick Flax (small plants with blue flowers) located in a field south of the Party Castle in Seers’ Village. Use the Flax on the Spinning Wheel upstairs in the house just north of the church. Spinning Wheel locations are marked on Tip.It’s 1.4MB interactive World Map. For a personal touch, visit the Ranged Guide tutor in Lumbridge (just north of the castle, south of the general store) – she can also advise members about fletching.
Herblore is unlocked by completing the Druidic Ritual quest. Herblore is a key part of both the Hero’s quest and the Legends quest, so start using those Guams and Marrentills (frequently dropped by Al Kharid warriors) right away!
The Slayer skill is begun by visiting a Slayer Master to get an assignment. The easiest one is Turael in Burthorpe (north of Taverly), in the first house on the east side of town. See the Slayer skill guide for further info. Consult Tip.It’s Bestiary to get detailed information on any monster.
To start Thieving, pickpocket Men (level 2) and Women (level 2) until your Thieving reaches 5 or 10. Then you’ll want to travel to Ardougne market square, the RS thieving mecca. See the Thieving skill guide.
All F2P skills have portions that are members-only. To learn about these added member techniques, check any of Tip.It’s Skill Guides and look for sections marked “members only”, items marked with an asterisk *, or for table rows highlighted in grey. For example, member Crafting includes the art of glassblowing, to create various useful glass items and earn crafting xp. New members may want to sail from Port Sarim to Entrana (don’t bring any weapons or stat-boosting gear) to learn about this from Fritz the Glassblower. Other members-only Crafting abilities include making dragonhide and snakeskin armour, spinning flax into bowstrings, making battlestaves, and more. Return to Top
Beware
Things for members to watch out for include poisoning, desert effect, and of course the Wilderness.
While touring Karamja and some dungeons, be aware that as a member you can get poisoned by certain monsters such as some spiders and Karamjan Tribesmen. Thieving certain chests also may release a cloud of poison. Regular poison starts by doing 4 HP damage each time it hits you (shown as a green “splat”), and takes a while to wear off – lower level members won’t survive it without Antipoison potions. See the Herblore Guide Poisoning section.
You can also die of the “desert effect” in the Kharidian desert south of Al Kharid (through Shantay Pass, where you will be warned). Take precautions when going there: wear desert robes, carry waterskins, and use a Knife to cut Kharidian cactus to replenish your water supplies.
The Wilderness is just as lethal in P2P as it is in F2P. If you’re new to Runescape, be aware that dying in the Wilderness deprives you of all but the three most valuable (store price) items you are carrying or wearing. If you have been in a fight in the Wilderness, you get a “skull” floating above your head, and dying will deprive you of ALL of your items. High level and P2P Wilderness areas also do not allow players to teleport out (not even Ring of Life or other enchanted jewellery teleports), so keep these dangers in mind. East Ardougne (west of the palace) has a “teleport lever” that transports you to the highest-level, exclusively members-only Wilderness area. Our 550KB Wilderness Map shows this area’s features, which include an Agility course and the Mage Arena mini game. Return to Top
Weapons
A wide range of exotic weaponry is available to members, with new ones being added all the time.
Although Dragon weapons have in many cases been outclassed by newer weapons, the more powerful weapons require large amounts of cash or very high skill levels to obtain (80+). Dragon weapons offer excellent benefits and are within financial reach of most rune-armoured players, although they do require 60 Attack to wield. They offer a nice bonus for training Strength. They can be purchased from other players; most are also available from a shop after finishing a quest. You may not be able to wield some of them without the related quest. See the Dragon weapons section of the Combat guide.
The Combat guide also has detailed information on the more expensive and rare weapons available to members.Return to Top

Minor money-making tips
There are many ways to make money as a member, but they may involve having high levels or already having some assets to invest. If you become a member at a lower level, you may be anxious to make some cash. In addition to the ways you already know (such as mining ore, merchandising, etc.), there are some low-level ways to make cash in P2P. One is Pure essence mining (requires 30 Mining) – members also have three additional essence mine teleport locations (see the Runecrafting guide). Another method is picking Flax (no skill required), and/or spinning Flax into Bowstrings (10 Crafting required; described in Fletching skill mentioned above). Fletching itself is a third low-level cash source – players will buy feathers, arrow shafts, headless arrows and arrows. All of the above items should be sold in bulk (no less than a hundred, but preferably thousands) to obtain the best prices – consult Tip.It’s Market Forums to survey current values.
A fourth method for obtaining quick runes (or possibly cash) is “essence running”. This activity supports higher level runecrafters who want to train but don’t want to keep running to the bank for more essence – a hungry player can fill this gap. Show up at the altar with a full pack of the appropriate essence (regular for 6 basic runes, pure essence for member-crafted runes) and receive payment (runes and/or cash and/or matching noted essence) in return. Then run to the bank, change noted essence into essence (depositing your cash and/or runes), and repeat as many times as desired. Popular worlds for essence running include 66 and 99 (Laws), and 91 (Natures). If you don’t yet have level 30 Mining (to get pure essence), you can try taking regular essence to the F2P world 16 Air altar.
If you are not yet comfortable enough in Runescape to try any of the above ideas, a far smaller (and smaller-paying!) job is available. Talk to the Wise Old Man, who lives just north of the bank in Draynor Village. Although he has a shady past, he has two things to offer: (1) he will look at your bank and tell you which F2P quest items you can safely throw out, and (2) he will hire you to run errands, in return for very small amounts of coins or experience. The tasks involve basic things like mining copper ore or baking bread. A former F2Per won’t want to bother, but someone who is entirely new to Runescape might want to try it
Is a sceptre formed from two skull halves and two staff halves. It has the power to teleport the user to the Barbarian Village. The bad thing about the sceptre is that you can teleport only 5 times. You can’t have more than one complete sceptre at a time, but you can have many pieces of the sceptre you want.
Why Should I Have One?
Everybody wants this sceptre. You can’t buy and sell the sceptre or its pieces, you need to find them. This sceptre is very cool and beautifull, and it can teleport you to Barbarian Village 5 times. If you have a high combat level, you should get as many pieces as you can, to use the teleport a lot of times.
Ok, I Like It, But… How Do I Get It?
Now, I hope your combat level is not to low. Wear the better armour you can, bring some food (tuna or better), and (if you want) some strength potions. Now lets start. First, go to the Barbarian Village, with your armor wielded, your food, and go down the entrance. This is the Stronghold of security. You need to have a security question and a bank PIN to enter some levels. When you enter the stronghold, pass the gates, answering the questions, untill you find Minotaurs(level 12). Kill them, untill one of them drop a half of the skull. When you get the half, continue to the end of the level. Get the prize and go down. Now you need to pass the gates again untill you find a Flesh Crawler(level 28) Kill it, untill it drop one of the staff halves. Now continue passing the gates, answering the questions, and when you find the end, get your prize, and go down. Now, continue passig the gates to find some Catablepons(level 49). Now kill them untill you get the other staff half(it can be very slow). Beware the spiders, they are annoying. Now continue, and get your prize again, and go down. Now, pass the gates, carefull with the monsters. Find a boney ghost. It is the Ankou(level 82). I hope you have a lot of food with you. Fight it if you think you can, and try to get the other half of the skull. When you get it, use the halves of the skull in each other to form a Strange Skull. Do the same with the halves of the staff, to get a Runed Sceptre. Now use the Runed Sceptre in the Strange Skull to get a Skull Sceptre!!! Congratulations! You have the Skull Sceptre! To teleport, just “operate” it!
The State of Play
If you look back at the last few months, you may have mixed feelings about some of the releases. Unbalanced trade removal; Bounty Hunter and Clan Wars; LootShare; the Assist System; the Grand Exchange: these were all massive changes affecting a huge number of people. They were so big, in fact, and released in such a short period of time, that we could not get everything right while also making every player happy. We certainly aimed to do so, but we still came some way short.
We decided, soon after their release, that we could address many of your problems with them. Your feedback on the Forums has really helped, and we have even been able to consult you on a number of instances. This led to the ‘Future Changes to Recent Updates’ in January: a list of our proposed changes to our recent content. It’s been a while since we released that newspost, and many of you seem worried that we’ve forgotten about the changes to LootShare, Grand Exchange and our other releases. Well, we can assure you that we haven’t forgotten. In fact, we have allocated nearly half of our content developers to getting these recent updates back on track!
We plan to release a State of Play regularly, to give you a real idea of how the most anticipated updates are progressing, so keep your eyes peeled for more news in the future.
The green progress bars will give you an idea of how close each project is to being released.
Grand Exchange Improvements:
Some changes to the Grand Exchange interfaces are entering the final stages of testing. We’ve listened to your feedback and we are finishing off interface changes to really speed up your selling and purchasing.
We also promised ‘a new web page…which will allow you to track item prices over a long period of time’. This is very close to completion and is currently with our Quality Assurance team. This will be a comprehensive and very visual means for you to find out item values and compare them with others, or see how they fluctuate over time. As you can imagine, we believe that this will be really useful to any merchants out there.
Finally, the Grand Exchange pricing errors are being fixed in what will be an ongoing process. We have staff members dedicated to collating information from the Forums and in-game sources, so you’ll see amendments occurring as the weeks go on. Here are a few examples of pricing issues that we have remedied:
We’ve allowed Summoning items to be traded on the Exchange for a wider range of prices over a prolonged period, and allowed their prices to adjust with their large number of sales.
We have made the price of items such as jewellery, poisoned dagger and clockwork toys behave more consistently, so that you are always getting a fair deal.
We’ve allowed a more generous range of prices on the Exchange for those items that are sold in shops.
We’ve also fixed a number of bugs that have been highlighted in the Forums, such as how potions behave.
We’d also like to remind you that the ‘Grand Exchange Price Feedback’ thread in our Suggestions Forum is the place for any constructive feedback you have on our market prices.
Fairer LootShare:
One of the most requested improvements will be to our LootShare feature, which has been worked on solidly since its announcement in the ‘Future Changes to Recent Updates’. We will be calling these changes ‘CoinShare’. With it activated, a clan will not receive a high-value item as a monster drop; instead, the item will be put on the Grand Exchange at the median price. The team of LootSharers will immediately gain a share of coins equal to that item’s lowest market value, without waiting for that item to sell on the Exchange. This is in final testing, at a similar stage to the Grand Exchange tweaks.
Item Lending:
Currently at a briefing stage is the item-lending feature. It has been incredibly difficult to find that balance between versatility and stopping cheaters from abusing it. We believe we’ve found a solution that achieves this, and we will give you more news in future articles.
New PvP Minigame:
Clan Wars and Bounty Hunter did a fair job of offering new PvP gaming choices, but they weren’t without their problems; in particular, Bounty Hunter was dominated by large clans, which just wasn’t how we intended Bounty Hunter to be used. We are aware that this week’s Bounty Hunter changes leaves only Clan Wars for multi-way fighters, which does not offer the level of danger and reward that Bounty Hunter did. We can reveal that changes to the Clan Wars arena are at a proposal stage and future multi-way minigames are planned, all of which should alleviate these concerns.
It must also be said that Clan Wars and Bounty Hunter were never alone intended as a replacement for the Wilderness. We saw them as the first in a series of PvP minigames, with other games being briefed that would attempt to cater for all types of PKer. Well, the next PvP minigame is now finishing development and entering the first round of quality assurance. We’re certainly very excited about this single-way, one-versus-one safe minigame.
Summoning Improvements:
When we started work on Summoning, we made the decision that it would be interesting, fun and rewarding, while also taking longer than most skills to level up. We feel now that we weren’t so hot on the ‘rewarding’ aspect, which has been an obstacle to many people enjoying the skill. Despite a few tweaks, we still don’t believe that it is as rewarding as it can be, and the worst thing we can do is to keep making tweaks every week for a long period of time.
So, we have decided to rebalance Summoning and release it with Summoning Batch #2. This rebalancing is about 20% complete and we will keep you informed about how it progresses. As you can imagine, this is a huge priority for us, so you can expect this percentage to rise rapidly.
We do appreciate that all of these changes are taking a while, and that a lot of people are urgently awaiting them. So, we are treating them as a priority. This is not the last you will see of progress reports like this, either: you can expect similar updates in the future, as we make more of an effort to inform you about the state of play…

A guide on how to best spend your money for the different skills.
There are tons of money making and merchanting guides out there, so I thought I would publish one guide for f2p (free to play=non members) that is about spending the money in a good way. This guide should be about how you can use your money to get your skills up.
Let’s Start
Different skills take different amount of gp to level. For example, for mining you just need to buy a pickaxe to start training it, but if you should train magic, you need to buy a lot of runes.
I will cover each skill with one little text, so just check the text about the skill you’re going to train, and some helpful advices will stand there about how you should use your money when you want to raise the level in that skill.
The combat skills
The combat skills takes a lot of money to train. You need armor, weapons, amulets and food. Armour and weapons is recommended to buy at Varrock west bank in a low number world. Same thing with the food and everything else you might need as amulets.
Ranging
The big range marketplace is in Lowe’s ranging shop in Varrock in world 1. Here you can buy dragon hide armor, arrows from bronze to adamant and pretty much everything you need for ranging.
Prayer
First of all: Prayer is an expensive skill to “buy” in F2P. I don’t recommend people who don’t got more than 1M gp to try buying bones for leveling prayer.
Ok, now that you know that: The best place to buy bones is Varrock west bank in world 1. Many people here sell big bones, which give you a lot of prayer XP for each bone you bury.
Magic
Magic is actually very easy to spend money in. You just buy runes, runes, runes and runes. Runes is easiest bought at Varrock west bank, at the main level, at the little stair going down to the basement. Here you can buy almost every sort of rune that exists.
At the same place you can also buy staffs and mage outfits.
Runecrafting
The only things you need for runecrafting is rune essences and talismans or tiaras. Rune essences could be bought at Varrock east bank in any of the low number f2p worlds. Talismans and tiaras could be bought at any bank in almost any world.
Crafting
Crafting: The most expensive skill to “buy” of them all, If you want to level in it fast and without doing very much work. If you are above level 65 in crafting, and want to level this skill more, it could get very expensive. But now I will give you a few advices. First off: gold bars. They are good crafting materials, cause from them you could make many different types of jewelery. Gold bars could be bought at Falador east bank in World 1. In Falador east bank in world 1 you can also find people who sell gems, both uncuts and cuts.
The tools you need for crafting could be found in the crafting shop in Al-Kharid.
Mining
For mining you need a pickaxe. This is easiest obtain in the pickaxe shop, which lies in the dwarf mines. If you go down through the ice mountain entrance, keep going forward. Take the first path to the right, and go forward until you can’t come any further. Right-click the dwarf here, and chose “trade”. He will have pickaxes for sale.
Smithing
The absolute best place for all your smithing needs is Falador east bank. If you want to buy ores or bars, this is the place you should head for. I would recommend world 1 if you’re going to buy big bulks of ores/bars, but if you just want 500 or so, you can but the ores/bars in almost any world at Falador east bank.
Cooking
Where to buy raw food depends on your cooking level, and also on what you want to cook. But generally, I would recommend the following places: Varrock west bank, Falador banks and the Draynor bank.
Firemaking
I don’t need to say where you get a tinderbox, do I?
But logs you can obtain in two places; Varrock west bank in any of the worlds, or Draynor bank in any of the low number f2p worlds.
Woodcutting
Well, everything you can buy here is an axe. Axes you can buy from other players almost in every city, or make your own if your smithing level is high enough. Also, for prices on the items in Runescape, you can check this website.

Location: Western Varrock (northwest of Juliet’s house, east of the Barbarian Village)
Requirements: Level 32 Cooking and a Chef’s Hat. If you have a Skillcape of Cooking (level 99 Cooking required), you don’t need a Chef’s Hat to enter the Guild. If you have a Chef’s Delight, you can enter the Cooks’ Guild at level 30 Cooking (with a mature Chef’s Delight, you can enter at level 29 Cooking). You can also enter the Cooks’ guild if you have Varrock Armour 3 equipped.
——————————————————————————–
Method One (Members Only)
Use a Necklace of Skills (enchanted Dragonstone Necklace) to teleport directly to the Cooks’ Guild. This is the fastest way, although a Necklace of Skills is rather expensive.
Method Two
The second best way to get to the Cooks’ Guild is by teleporting to Varrock, and then walking west to the Guild. To teleport to Varrock, you will need a Law Rune, Fire Rune and three Air Runes. You could always use a corresponding staff to take the place of the air or fire runes.
Method Three
Another way of getting to the Cooks’ Guild is by using a Skull Sceptre to teleport to the Barbarian Village, and then walking east. You can obtain a Skull Sceptre by killing selected monsters in the Stonghold of Security minigame.
Method Four (Members Only)
Finally, the last method to get to the Cooks’ Guild is by using Paddewa Teleport (level 54 Magic and completion of the quest Desert Treasure required) to the Edgeville Dungeon. To use Paddewa Teleport, you will need two Law Runes, one Air Rune and one Fire Rune. You should be at the westernmost side of the Edgeville Dungeon. The fastest way is to go all the way through the dungeon. To do that, just go north and follow the path, past the skeletons, zombies and hobgoblins. If you already have a Brass Key, just go up the ladder between the zombies and hill giants. You should be just a little west of the Cooks’ Guild. If you don’t have a Brass Key, follow the steps above and just pick up a Brass Key in a small cove just north of the Hill Giants.
——————————————————————————–
The First Floor
There are only two NPCs in the Cooks’ Guild and they are both found on the first floor of the Guild. The first is the Head Chef who will welcome you to the Guild if you talk to him:
Additionally, if you are a member with level 99 Cooking, talk to him to buy a Skillcape of Cooking for 99,000 coins.
The second NPC in the Cooks’ Guild is Romily Weaklax, the pie seller.
Romily is Members’ only. His pie shop is explained later on in the guide.
(1) Chocolate Bar Respawn
If you bring Cakes to the Cooks’ Guild and have level 50 Cooking, you can turn them into Chocolate Cakes.
(2) The Pump and Drain
The pump and drain replace the former sink, allowing you to fill jugs with water to make cooking items, such as wine and pastry dough.
(3) Romily Weaklax’s Pie Stall
Romily sells various pies, from Redberry to Mud to Summer. If you forget a recipe for a certain pie, you can buy a Pie Recipe Book from Romily for the small price of 5 gp. Additionally, you can talk to Romily and he will place an order with you for a certain amount of pies. When you make and deliver them, Romily will pay you.
Pie Shop
Picture Item Price
Pie Recipe Book 5gp
Redberry Pie 12gp
Meat Pie 15gp
Garden Pie 24gp
Apple Pie 30gp
Mud Pie 54gp
Fish Pie 100gp
Summer Pie 140gp
Wild Pie 182gp
Admiral Pie 310gp
——————————————————————————–
The Second Floor
(1) Cooking Apples and Pie Dish
These two objects are the products of the most commonly produced food in the Cooks’ Guild: apple pie. Apple pie is made by adding pastry dough to a pie dish to form a pie shell, then adding a cooking apple to make an uncooked apple pie.
(2) Bowl and Cake Tin
As the name suggests, bowls can be filled with water for use in making pastry dough. Cake tins, predictably, are used in making cakes, as pie dishes are used in making pies.
(3) The Ranges
Here, you can cook all of your uncooked food, such as pies, pizzas or cakes
(4) The Dairy Churn
With this useful equipment, members can make their very own butter, cheese and cream. Simply use a bucket of milk with the dairy churn and select the one you want to make.
——————————————————————————–
The Third Floor
(1) Cooking Apple
Here, another cooking apple respawns, in case someone else grabbed the ones on the second floor. Additionally, the jug that respawns here is used for the making of wine.
(2) Grapes and Pot
The pot is used in the production of flour, which will be explained later on. The grapes, like the jug, are used for producing wine. If you have level 35 Cooking, to make wine, simply go downstairs to the pump and drain and fill your jug with water, making a jug of water. Then, use the grapes with the jug of wine and you will have unfermented wine. After 15 seconds, your wine will ferment and will either become a jug of wine or a jug of bad wine.
(3) The Hopper
The hopper is the first mechanical step in making Flour.
(4) The Hopper Controls
After the grain is in the hopper, simply operate the hopper controls. This will mill the grain and it will slide down a chute to the bottom floor of the Cooks’ Guild, where you can collect it with a pot.
——————————————————————————–
The Wheat Field
With Jagex’s update to Varrock on May 29, 2007, the Cooks’ Guild gained its most useful aspect yet: its own Wheatfield. Previously, cooks wishing to make Apple Pies were forced to pick wheat from near the Champions’ Guild, or work with banked wheat. The update changed all of that when visitors to the Cooks’ Guild found that they could collect and mill wheat without ever leaving the Cooks’ Guild’s grounds. This, in turn, made the making of the Guild’s most popular recipe, Apple Pie, much quicker.
The Wheatfield is located directly to the north of the Guild. It’s not as big as some Wheatfields, such as the ones in Draynor Village or near the Champions’ Guild, but the wheat respawns fast enough that you shouldn’t have a problem getting as much as you need. As with all wheat fields, there’s a possibility that a Crop Circle will randomly appear. This phenomenon will give you access to the minigame Impetuous Impulses.

The Fishing guild is located in the heart of Kandarin, just north of Ardougne; it is for members only. You’ll need level 68 fishing to enter. At level 65 you might wish to drink a fishing potion to enter (requires level 50 herblore to make; at level 63 you could eat an admiral pie to qualify (requires level 70 cooking to bake.)
The skills necklace teleport is an easy way for members to arrive just outside the guild door. Simply rub it and choose this guild as the destination. Read the skills necklace items database entry to learn more about making and recharging it.
The Master Fisher is usually just outside the door, and as you enter you will notice the three respawns of fishing equipment; a lobster cage, harpoon and a big fishing net (shown in purple on the map). The range close by is also very convenient, allowing you to cook whatever you fish and gain that cooking xp that you desire. There is a bank in the north-western corner where you can deposit your raw or cooked fish.
The two piers in the fishing guild are the obvious center of activity here. Many fishing spots allow you to catch tuna, lobster, swordfish, shark and more. The Orange spots are where you can one-click for lobster fishing. The green spots are for one-clicking big net fishing. Be aware that the fishing spots come on and off and also move left and right so you can’t just ignore the playing screen. At any one time, you can count on 80% of the spots shown on the map being available. The map accurately depicts the positions of each type of fishing spot. The fishing guild shop close by, run by Roachey, will buy your raw and cooked fish.

This members only guild is located in Yanille and is accessible only to those with a magic level of 66 and higher.
Lower level players doing the Zogre Flesh Eaters quest or Hand in the Sand quest can ring the large bell outside on the lawn to summon an NPC, so they can accomplish their quest without entering the guild.
There are several stat boosters that can help a lower level temporarily qualify to enter. The cheapest is a wizard’s mind bomb (bought from the Inn in Falador or other pubs around Runescape), which raises magic by 3. A magic essence potion (made by level 57 Herblorists using items from the Fairy Tale part II quest) will raise magic by 3 as well. Finally, a magic potion (made by level 76 Herblorists) will raise magic by 4. Since all of these raise magic for only a short time, wasting an expensive potion for a quick peek around is not recommended. You can check out the guild using this guide instead!
Ground level
The most important person on the ground floor is the Wizard Distentor. He is the head of the guild, and can teleport you to the rune essence mine. This is the portal most members use to access the rune essence mine because it is the closest to a bank, namely Yanille bank.
Zavistic Rarve, the grand secretary of the guild, is also located on the ground floor. He is the guild contact for both the Zogre Flesh Eaters quest and the Hand in the Sand quest. As stated above, lower level players can summon him outside using the bell in order to continue their quest.
A visiting gnome mage, Professor Imblewyn, is also hanging around. Although he states he is learning about human magic, we suspect he is merely waiting for his lunch, ordered from the Gnome Delivery Service.
Upstairs (Shops)
Upstairs, the magic guild store owner sells runes at a slight discount, and also sells staves. The robe store owner has a plentiful supply of the highly fashionable Mystic Robes for sale.

Top Floor (Portals)
On the top floor, there are two vial respawns on the table and three magic portals.
The east portal teleports you to the wizards’ tower south of Draynor Village.
The south portal teleports you to the dark wizards’ tower just north of the Crafting guild.
The west portal teleports you to Thormac the Sorceror’s house just west of Catherby.
There’s an easy way to keep the portal destinations straight (since they are not marked). Just remember that the west portal leads to the most western magic tower (Thormac’s), and the east portal leads to the most eastern magic tower (Draynor). The southern portal is left over, and therefore leads to the dark wizards’ tower.
Dungeon
Finally there is the dungeon underground level, run by Wizard Frumscone. The level 24 Zombies are in a cage which you cannot enter, hence their only purpose is to serve as targets for your spells, or for a flurry of arrows from a ranging mage. You can only recover loot from inside the cage using the telekinetic grab spell. Have fun whatever you intend to do in this guild!
Prologue:
Guthix first came to the empty void now known as Runescape long before the first age began. He then created the world of Gielnor, now known as Runescape, and all of it’s abundance. He created the natural laws that governed the order of things, and he created nature. He also created life. His new realm was flowing with life, including elves, dwarves, gnomes, and humans. Guthix saw that everything was peaceful, good, and in balance, and then he slept. Shortly thereafter, a new deity entered the world of Gielnor. His name was Zaros, but he was known as the Empty Lord. He used nature for his own good, and built cities and fortresses, forcing the creatures of Gielnor to be his slaves. He soon forged an empire more powerful than any other that ever existed. He ruled it with an iron fist, and used the Mahjarrat tribe from the realm of Freneskae as his soldiers. He also created creatures that are now forever gone from Runescape. Monstrosities that, according to most, we should be glad are gone. Zaros also had a goal, which was to dominate all of Gielnor, and to control it’s vast population, and to harvest it’s mass materials for himself.
Yet what is the most shocking of all this, is that he would have succeeded.
Chapter I
“The Islarin tribe has been wiped out, my lord…” Zamorak bowed down and knelt before his master, the Empty Lord of Runescape, whose spirit was mysteriously present on the throne inside the large dragon jaws inside the chamber. “They were no match for your magics, sire.”
“Do you know of Amscut?” The deep, horrid voice of Zamorak’s master seemed to ignore his victory.
“Yes, my lord,” Zamorak raised his head from his bow. “‘The Devourer,’”
“She openly mocks me, and defiles my lands with her wretched filth!” Zamorak began shivering from the anger in his Lord’s words. “Destroy her army, and bring her to me.”
“Is that all?”
“Go, now.”
“Yes, my lord,” Zamorak bowed and exited the chamber.
“SOLDIERS… MARCH!” Zamorak’s chief lieutenant, Thammaron barked orders at the army of vampires and demons that were pouring out of Senntisten by the thousands, going south to annihilate Amscut ‘The Devourer’ and her undead or possessed army. Massive, Greater Demons flew low over the army, ready to defend them from the Wyrms, which were dragon-like beast of the air. They sometimes could become hypnotized by The Devourer, and Zamorak’s horde took every precaution and always overestimated their opponent intentionally.
“How many legions are leaving?” the sting of Zamorak’s voice always seemed to hurt Thammaron’s ears.
“Ten legions, sir,” Thammaron responded. “Amscut will pay for her insolence to our Lord!”
“Our forces will overwhelm her, but be careful, as she is not as brainless as her army suggests!”
“Yes, sir,” Thammaron said.
“And one more thing,” Zamorak’s eyes seemed to pierce through his helmet as he looked at Thammaron. “Our master wants her alive!”
“Yes, sir!”
********************************
Ten of the army’s twelve legions were assembled on the desert field in front of the lone mountain on which the Fortress of Pyrantia, the home of the Devourer, rested. Zamorak smiled. He knew that victory would be theirs.
“Azzanadra,” he looked towards one of his master’s top commanders and warriors. “Take three legions and go around the mountain and flank them. I want this battle ended by dawn! Destroy the fortress and bring Amscut back alive, am I understood.”
Azzanadra smiled his demonic smile. “Yes, sir…”
Suddenly, a screech came from the fortress, followed by a war cry from thousands of undead and possessed creatures charging at the armies of Senntisten. Amsacut’s army was mainly undead, zombie-like ghouls, and possessed humans whom the Devourer had cast a spell upon to hypnotize them to do her bidding.
“MAGES! PREPARE YOUR STAFFS!” roared Thammaron. “TAKE AIM!” Thammaron sucked in air to make his final call. “FIRE!” A wave of ice spells came crashing upon Amscut’s possessed army, freezing the first three rows. Simialr shadow and smoke spells were fired as well, blinding and poisoning the front line. Then came the blood spells from the vampire Draynor, the most powerful of all vampires, and his target’s life seemed to just drain away in a red smoke.
“DEMONS!” Thammaron bellowed. “BREAK THEIR LINES!” First the Greater Demons flew in, landing in the middle of the army and smashing them with their massive weapons and wiping them out, and then their lesser counterparts, along with many imps, came crashing into their already weakened front line, wiping them out with such ease and viciousness, that they knew that victory would come within the hour.
“To the keep!” Azzanadra pointed his diamond sword at the castle of Amscut. “Bring the Devourer out alive!”
Three legions rushed to the un-guarded backside of the fortress, destroying everything in their path, and killing the undead that inhabited the interior. Azzanadra lead the way to the highest tower, where Amsacut was fending off the Greater Demons sent by Zamorak. Azzanadra pointed his magical sword at her, and the ice diamond on his sword glowed as a silver substance shot at her, freezing her for several seconds, which was enough for the largest of the Greater Demons to grab her and bring her back to their Lord.
The now tiny forces of Amscut were retreating back to the fortress, only to be massacred by Azzanadra’s forces that occupied the castle. Soon the forces were rounded up and slaughtered. The orders of Zaros had been carried out.
********************************
Amscut’s lips trembled, along with the rest of her body, partly from the cold nights of Senntisten, and maybe because of her tattered and ripped robes, but mostly because of the Empty Lord’s anger, and his power, which was enough to end her life in any second.
“You have mocked me time and time again!” she trembled at Zaros’ voice. “Your wretched filth has defiled my lands! This will stop!”
“Y-y-yes l-lord Zaros,” she stammered, and then began to cry. “J-just l-let m-m-me g-go free!”
“You are bound with adamantine chains, your army has just been annihilated and your power has been drained!” Treus Dayth, a cunning Mahjarrat warrior known as ‘The Serpent’ cut in. “You are in no position to bargain.”
“Zamorak, get this wretch out of my court!” Zaros ordered. From the anger in Zaros’ voice, not only Treus Dyth shook with fear. Zamorak grabbed him and dragged him across the courtroom and threw him into the courtyard. The Empty Lord turned towards Amscut, his evil appearance frightening her even more. Suddenly, Amscut dropped down and fainted. “Remove her from my sight!”
“Shall I kill her?” Zamorak asked.
“You have much to learn, Zamorak,” Zaros spoke. “If you kill her, she will be freed from all suffering. Let her linger on in the desert, where she will remain for a milenia!”
Zamorak nodded, and cast a teleportation spell on the unconscious Devourer. Immedately, purple cubes surrounded her, then disappeared, and she was gone.
Several hours later, Amsacut awoke to a blinding sun and extreme heat. She looked up to see mountains rising above the desert ground. She looked behind her and saw huge cliffs. She was trapped. She tried to use magic to quench her thirst and relieve the heat, but it was no use. She fell to her knees and cried out with despair. At that moment, many thoughts came to her, but what she did not know was that she would be trapped in that desert for a thousand years.
