A problem is brewing in Lumbridge this Thanksgiving. It seems that Phileas, the Lumbridge Sage, has happened upon some rather troubling manuscripts near his home and he needs your help to solve the mysteries they reveal.

Solving the clues will prove a tough challenge as you pit your wits against a mysterious clue-setter and his secret network of contacts. Regardless, if you can stay the course and solve the clues over the next four days, you’ll certainly have proven your detective skills.

For those with the steely determination and the requisite clue-solving abilities, a new item and emote will be yours for the claiming. Simply head over to the official Cryptic Clue Fest thread for your first clue and an explanation of what to expect, and then keep checking the thread each day of this holiday weekend (Thursday-Sunday) for subsequent clues.

That’s not all this Thanksgiving, though. For anyone who’s not yet helped him out, the Lumbridge cook’s brother has some turkey-related shenanigans he’d like some help with. Either talk to the cook’s brother in Lumbridge Castle’s kitchen or check out this Knowledge Base page for more information.

Good luck and happy Thanksgiving!

If you’re after something else to do between solving clues, our friends over at FunOrb have recently launched a single-player campaign for the RuneScape inspired game Armies of Gielinor. The God Wars are in full swing and the forces of Saradomin and Zamorak are engaged in a struggle for domination. Take control of the Zamorak horde as it enters the fray and battles for control of Morytania. This update is free-to-play for all and comprises of 17 mission of tactical action against some fiendishly clever opposition. Six Achievements are available for you to earn, so head over to FunOrb to try the game and see if you can claim Morytania for the forces of Zamorak.

The Fishing Trawler minigame is found in Port Khazard. There are many ways to get to this location, here are the most common:

1. Watchtower Teleport – requires Watchtower Quest completed in order to use this method.
Teleport to the Watchtower with 2 Earth Runes and 2 Law Runes and follow the red line to walk to Port Khazard.

2.  Spirit Tree – requires Tree Gnome Village completed to use this method.
Use any Spirit Tree on RuneScape and teleport to the Battlefield. Afterwards, walk to Port Khazard by following the blue line.

3.  Ardougne Teleport – requires Plague City completed to use this method.
Teleport to Ardougne with 2 Water Runes and 2 Law Runes, then follow the pink line to Port Khazard.

4.  Fairy Ring DJP – requires Fairy Tale Part II started to use this method.
Use the Fairy Ring Code “DJP” to teleport just north of Port Khazard, and then walk there by following the yellow line. You need a Dramen staff or a Lunar staff to use the fairy rings.

5.  Khazard Teleport – requires Lunar Diplomacy completed to use this method.
Teleport yourself or a group to Port Khazard using the Khazard (Group) Teleport. This teleport will use 2 Astral Runes, 2 Law Runes and 4 or 8 Water Runes and is in the Lunar Spellbook. Follow the green path.

6.  Charter Ship
Charter a ship from a place on RuneScape and pay a small fee to be taken to Port Khazard. After, take a small walk to the minigame by following the orange line.

Now for one of the easiest parts of your strength pure training….. Picking skill goals. Now this is that part where i must say easier done then said…. Now with that said lets start off by picking skill goals to train. As a rule i must say strength must have a minimum level of 50 to pk and become a respected pker. Now your attack can range from 1-40 although i suggest getting it up a little so you can hit a few extra times each fight.

Alright now that you are on real runescape soil you can head over to the dungeon very close to where you land after your lumbrige teleport and get the two 250xp skill lamps from sir Vance and use then both on hp. Yes that’s right all other guides say to use those lamps on skills and I would to but I found out that by using those lamps plus the ones from the stronghold of player safety you get 15 hp or 1250xp in hp without doing any combat and that will give you the best bonus in the game as hp is the pures best friend. Now after that head over to varrock and take the grand exchange tutorial and then buy a few trout maybe 12 or so because you don’t take that much damage in the stronghold of security. Then after you are done the stronghold of security you should do the stronghold of player safety and remember that you use the xp lamps on hp. After that you should have the 20k from the strongholds plus however much you get from the items off the tutorial island. Now you can go a head and buy 1 set full iron all scimitars up to mithril and use the rest of your money to buy cakes to use for training. If you want to know why you don’t buy a rune scimitar its because rune scimitars currently go for 30-40k or more.

This section of this minigame has been rated as Low Risk. Refer to the top of our Minigames page for a definition of High and Low Risk.

Required Items: One Roe or One Caviar, and One Attack Potion(2)
Required Skills: Level 4 Herblore and Completion of the Barbarian Pole Fishing task

To begin this task, just as any other, you need to speak with Otto. Otto will tell you that the Barbarian way of potion-making is, indeed, different than the normal way. Otto will tell you that he wants you to bring him an Attack potion mix.

If you do not already have an Attack potion(2) (from drinking off excess doses), you can use a 4-dose potion on an empty vial. The potion will decant into both vials, creating two 2-dose potions! (This works with any 4-dose potion.)

Get a Roe or Caviar from Barbarian Pole Fishing and use it on an Attack potion(2). Give it to Otto and you have completed this task!

After this, you can add Caviar (or Roe in some cases) to any 2-dose potion to make it a “Fishy mix”. This adds a healing boost to each dose. For more detailed information, check out our Herblore Guide (Fish Potions).

I would highly recommend you check out the official Forums, search for a post called “Skill Guide To All Skills” by a player named Spaderdabomb, his guide is awesome for leveling quickly. I would also recommend you check out RuneHQ and Sal’s Realm of Runescape. You can find them through any search engine such as Google or Yahoo. There is also a clan chat channel for skill help, just join channel “Spader Chat” and you will find lots of people there willing to help you. ——————————————————————————– Become a Member and go to Relleka. Relleka is West of Falador and North of Camelot. Kill Rock crabs North of the town. The are level 13 and have 50 health. The fastest way to level a skill in RuneScape is to power-level. This means doing an action over and over, for the sole purpose of gaining EXP. This is often used in Mining and Fishing, where you can Mine/Fish a whole inventory of low leveled items and drop them, gaining a few thousand EXP per inventory. Train, DUH! ———————————————————————————————————— It depends on what you want to level, combat skills or non-combat skills. for combat skills, find low level enemies and kill them a lot. if you are less than 6 str, you can go to the dummies in varrock and keep hitting them until u get to 6 str, then it won’t let you get any more experience off them. After you get to a higher level, you can fight different monsters. To train quickly, fight monsters that are common, won’t hurt you very much, and have plenty of hp (for example, rock crabs north of Relekka.) For non-combat skills, there are a few different types. Production, resource, and other. For production (smithing, fletching, construction, to name a few) you will need to either get your own resources, or buy them. buying them saves time, but can be quite expensive. Getting your own takes time, but will allow you to get profit off of your work. Then, just stock up, and work through it. These skills usually take awhile to train, so be prepared to spend quite a bit of time in front of your computer screen leveling them up. For resource skills, just power-skill for quick xp, or bank the resources if you want to do something with them later. If you power-skill, chose something that is readily available, and regrows quickly (iron ore, willow trees, fly-fishing areas). For bank-gathering, choose somewhere that is close to a bank, and has a reasonable amount of that item (willows near Draynor, Lumbridge river, dwarven mine/mining guild, for a few examples).

Your “Combat Level” is a composite of all your combat skills, which include
your primary attack skill (Attack, Range or Magic..  whatever skill is higher
at the time), Strength, Defense, Prayer & HP skills.  To check your Combat
Level, click on the stats tab & look at the lower part of the window for the
“Combat Level” listing.  Do not be surprised if your combat level is stated
higher than any of your actual levels.  Again, this is a composite level &
all 6 parts that comprise this level are greater than their separate parts.

If you’re within reasonable combat range with a monster, the monster’s combat
level will be displayed.  RuneScape uses a visual system to give you a hint
of your survival chances by giving you a “color”.  The colors on this system
is as follows…

* No Display  = “Nice Knowing You!” (Practically NO CHANCE of surviving)
* Red Text    = You have little chance of surviving…
* Orange Text = You have a fair shot (33-50%) chance of surviving.
* Yellow Text = You have a 50/50 chance of surviving.
* Green Text  = You’ll most likely survive the fight.

Please be aware that the “Combat Color” is based on ideal battle conditions,
like being at full health, & your primary combat skill.  Here’s a few examples
of things you may run up against.

EX 1) You have Lv 15 Combat (Melee-based) & you’re planning on fighting Lv 10
Dwarves.  You’ll probably be able to take on about 2 Dwarves without any food,
but fighting 3 or more in one go could kill you. — Moral: Know your limits!

EX 2) You have Lv 23 Combat (Melee-based) & Lv 12 Magic fighting a Lv 7 Dark
Wizard.  You’d be able to kill the wizard fairly easy when fighting as a
Knight, but your survival chances drop to 50/50 or less when fighting as a
Mage. — Moral: Stick to your primary combat skill when needed.

The Champions’ Guild now contains a Basement where Players are able to fight against Champions of the different races in RuneScape. To fight against a Champion of a race you need to obtain a Challenge Scroll for that particular Champion. This is achieved by fighting the normal monster the Champion represents, for example when you kill Lesser Demons there is a change they will drop a Challenge Scroll from the Lesser Demon Champion.

If you are lucky enough to get a Challenge Scroll as a drop, you need to hand your Challenge Scroll to Larxus in the Champions’ Guild Basement. Larxus will inform you of the rules of the forthcoming fight. If you accept the challenge you will be teleported to the area. The Champions will put up a strong showing, as they are stronger than the average member of the race they are representing.

When you have killed the Champion, the Challenge is completed and you will receive an Experience reward (Experience varies from Champion to Champion). You will also find that a Banner will appear on one of the Basement walls showing the Champion you defeated.

Below is a list of the basic Champions and some information about them:

I’m going to the Fight Caves, and I’m really nervous about doing it. I’m a nervous person by nature. So, after lurking here for a week, it’s seems that one person in particular has beat the Fight Cave 11 or 13 time, I can’t remember. Anyways, this is mostly directed toward him/her. I need help, because I wasted almost all my money on supplies, mainly Super Restores and Sara Brews. Here’s my set up:

Helm of Neitiznot
Guthix Stole
Black D’hide top
Black D’hide vambraces
Black D’hide chaps
Dragon Boots
Ava’s Accumulator
Rune C’bow
1k Addy bolts
Explorer’s Ring (for Prayer Boost)
Rune Gloves
Unholy Book

My stats:
76 Attack
86 Strength
75 Defense
61 Prayer
72 Range
81 HP
My inventory is 2 Ranging Potion(4), 10 Sara Brews(4), 16 Super Restores(4). I’ll be using Range throughout the whole thing. I have no money left to waste. The thing that I mostly need to know is when to heal, where to hide, and especially, Jad’s attacks. I know that they have a certain sound. Thanks for I the help!!!

Halloween is right around the corner and if you’re like me then you’re gearing up for all the fall craft shows buy making plenty of halloween themed beaded jewelry.  Halloween is one of my favorite holidays and making jewelry with halloween beads always gives me a little kick!

Click on the photo for more cheap Halloween lampwork beads, charms and lots of other cheap beading supplies for Halloween at OrientalTrading.com!Halloween is a fun holiday but it isn’t one of those holidays where people want to spend a lot of money on beaded jewelry.  I understand that so I always try to price my Halloween bead jewelry a little lower than my regular bead jewelry, but to make sure I stay profitable and still make money at my fall craft shows I use some techniques to make sure I buy my Halloween beads without spending a lot of money.

The key to making money selling Halloween jewelry is to make sure you buy cheap Halloween beads. Here are some tips you can use to buy cheap beads for Halloween or any holiday!

Buy Cheap Beads from Discount Stores: I’ve written about the importance of buying cheap beads from discount stores in the past, but for Halloween beads and other holiday items this is especially important.  Halloween items always have high prices before Halloween and low prices afterwards.  Regular and specialty bead shops will have high prices initially to make the most profit they can, but discount stores don’t need to grab the high profit because their strategy is to sell high quantities of items at lower prices.  As a result the price of Halloween and holiday beads at discount stores won’t vary as much and you can be sure you’re always paying a low price for your beads.

Buy Cheap Halloween Beads in Bulk or Wholesale: You can buy any sort of bead in bulk or wholesale, but a lot of people forget that beads for a specific holiday like Halloween can be saved and reused from year to year, regardless of style or trends.  I mean, no matter what the fashion trends are from one year to the next I’m sure I’ll always be able to sell beaded bracelets with black cat beads and beaded earrings with Halloween Jack-O-Lantern beads on them!

Buy Up Those Cheap Halloween Beads in November: I love to go shopping the day after Halloween for beads at all the local craft stores and online sites because I can always get great deals that I couldn’t get a few days before.  If you want cheap beads for Halloween or any holiday then you need to be willing to buy up the clearance inventory beads at a deep discount after each holiday.  I know Halloween will come around next year and when it does I’ll have plenty of beads ready to go for my next Halloween jewelry projects!

The key to buying a lot of cheap beads after a holiday like Halloween is having the patience, organizational skills and room to store them!  I personally use well-labeled plastic bins to store all my cheap Halloween and other holiday beads from year to year.

This method of buying of lots of cheap beads at a discount and then storing them works for all the holidays, obviously, but it also has a fun side to it.  After you buy up your beads and put them away for a year it’s a lot of fun to open up those boxes and discover all the neat Halloween beads that you forgot about from the year before!  It’s almost like having a little treasure chest of surprise cheap beads from one year to the next!
