Getting Started

Firstly, talk to Father Aereck and ask him if he has a quest for you. He can be found inside the Lumbridge church, standing around the altar. He says that he needs someone to make the ghost in the Church Graveyard go away. He mentions that his friend Father Urhney may be able to help you.

Leave the church and follow the road north until you reach the General Store, and then head west along the dirt path until it ends. Now head southeast through the swamp, or head south along the ocean until you find a small house. Talk to Father Urhney and tell him that Father Aereck sent you. Say that a ghost is haunting the graveyard, and he gives you an Amulet of GhostSpeak so that you can talk to it.

Helping the Ghost

Go back to the church in Lumbridge and walk into the graveyard behind it. The ghost is inside the small building in the corner of the graveyard, and you may need to open and close the Coffin to get him to appear. With your new amulet on, speak to the ghost, and when he asks if you understood him, tell him that you did. He says that a Warlock has stolen his skull, and that may be why he can’t rest.

Now leave the graveyard and follow the road north until you reach the General Store. Head west along the same dirt path you traveled before, but this time keep to the same direction until you reach a road. Follow it south into the Wizard’s Tower, and climb down the ladder. Walk along the corridor to the door on the east side. You’ll see an altar; search this to find a Skull. A level 13 Skeleton will then jump out at you, but since you already have the skull, just run away!

Visit the ghost back in the Graveyard, and tell him that you’ve found his skull. He needs you to put it in his coffin, and after you do so he will be able to rest.

The Loyalty Points systems allows one to use non-transferable Loyalty Points in combination with other assets to purchase standard items at a reduced rate or to acquire otherwise unattainable items. A large proportion of the in-game economy is player driven; Non-player character merchants supply some basic blueprints, items and trade goods. Players, through the use of blueprints and in-game skills, can gain the ability to build items ranging from basic ammunition to cutting-edge capital ship hulls, and manufacture them for personal use or for sale. Pricing and availability of goods varies from region to region within the Eve universe. These aspects contribute to an economic environment influenced by factors like scarcity of resources, specialization of labor and supply/demand dynamics.[23] The economy is closely tied with the (also player driven) political aspect of the game. Player corporations (the Eve equivalent of guilds) rise and fall as they struggle for market dominance as well as territorial control. From a technical point of view, the economy in Eve is known as an open economy, that is there is no fixed amount of money or materials in the universe. CCP did attempt to implement a closed economy (that is an economy where there is a fixed amount of currency and therefore materials) early on in the game’s existence; however, it proved too difficult to balance the effects of new players entering the game with the capabilities of older players able to earn more ISK or obtain more materials. The current Open economy is automatically balanced by introducing extra materials in underpopulated areas to encourage an even spread of players.[24] Eve’s End User Licence Agreement forbids the exchange of ISK for real currency; however there is a secure in-game system for trading “Game Time Codes” (GTC) in exchange for in game currency. In a similar way selling and buying characters for in game currency is allowed. On 27 June 2007 CCP announced that an economist had been employed[25] to assist in the development of the economic side of the game. Dr. Gu餸undsson has stated that he will be responsible for compiling quarterly economic reports for the community and providing ongoing analysis of the economic facets of Eve, along with coordinating research with other interested parties.

How to Avoid Scams in Runescape
There are many ways RuneScape players choose to scam or trick other RuneScape players for personal gain. Such dishonest methods can range from extremely simple to entirely complex. You’ll be surprised by how elaborate a scammer’s scheme might be. Either way, you must keep an eye out for such dishonest pixel-lovers…

Steps

1. Watch the second trade screen closely before accepting. The January 2nd update makes this scam impossible. Because you cannot trade out of the 3k limit (for non-members) and up to 30k for members. Even Mithril is worth more then 3k, so as stated before this no longer applies.

2. Report any trim offers immediately. The January 2nd update makes this scam impossible. All Black, Adamant, and Rune armor are all worth more than 3k, so you cannot trade those items without having equal value. And keep in mind that NO ONE can trim armour in RuneScape. Not even the JMods themselves (unless they have it with them already via magic backpack ^_^)…

3. Know what the “true” value of items are when trading. The January 2nd update makes this scam impossible. Whenever you trade an item it now shows the value of the item

4. Avoid any and all “trust trades”. This may sound like a broken record, but now thanks to The January 2nd update, it makes this scam impossible. You cannot give anyone more then 3k so trust tests cannot be done.

5. Beware of suspicious jobs. Do not attempt to take the Wine of Zamorak for anyone, unless you kill all of the monks first. If they say that you shouldn’t kill the monks, ask them why they don’t get it themselves, then leave. Taking the Wine of Zamorak without killing the Monks causes you Hit Point damage, as well as resulting in all of the monks attacking you. Another pointer is to be wary of a player asking you to do an odd task with them when in the Ardougne area, or anywhere else that contains trapped chests for the purpose of Thieving. One scam around them is telling the player that if they click to open the chest enough times, it will glitch RuneScape and give them a valuable item. Actually, it will just cause you a lot of hitpoints damage due to the trap being triggered. Beware of Runescape players that cozy up to you, act really nice and do you a few small favors but then turn around and ask for something really big (like a Runescape party hat) just because they did a couple of little things for you while playing the game. Remember that all Runescape trades are not equal. You might feel guilty about not giving people anything in return, which is perfectly normal. But if what another Runescape player asks for is ridiculous, just tell them no. Period. If they bully you or keep demanding an unfair Runescape trade just remove them or block them. Besides, nowadays, think of the bright side: uneven trades are almost impossible thanks to the half-loved/half-hated Trade Limit update (from late 2007). Beware of players asking you to smelt limestone if you are low on health. Limestone can cause a moderate amount of damage when smelted, and can kill a low level/player low on health.

6. Keep your password to yourself! This cannot be stressed anymore than it is. Treat your password like a credit card or social security number! Even if it’s a relative or friend right next to you, one action may change your account significantly. People may say things like “Jagex blocks you from saying your password” or “You can’t say your password backwords!” All they are trying to do is get you to say your password out loud so they can log onto your accoutn and change your password. It’s so easy to do it’s unbelievable.

7. Do not ever go to the wilderness to trade. Don’t even come close to the ditch with your valuable items and money. Some players may say they want to trade somewhere close to the north but they are actually trying lure you into the north so that NPCs can kill you. Remember, the wilderness is the only place that is NOT secure for trading and you are likely to be killed by the renevant ghosts.

8. Beware of keystrokes. One common scam is to tell someone that if they drop 5 coins on the ground and hit Atl-F4 it will double. This is not true and Alt-F4 closes your web browser so you can’t stop them from taking the money. Do not press any keys without knowing what they do on your computer first.

Tips

?? Don’t listen to anyone asking to follow them. Most likely, they’ll lead you to the Wilderness & kill you. A suggestion is to tell them that you need to go to the bank first & see how they react. Keep an eye out for your surroundings, if you do decide to follow someone else. Be aware of where you are going at all times. You should never go into an area with another player that you know contains hostile and high leveled creatures such as the Kalphite Queen.

?? Before agreeing to a trade on the forums, ask the player where the trade is going to take place. Sometimes players offer good items for a low price… But want you to meet them in the middle of the Wilderness. If that is the case, you can report them on the Forum Emergencies sticky in the General Forum.

?? You may also want to add the player that you are trading with to the friend list so if they log out and you don’t remember their name you can always copy it from your friend list.

?? Don??t give to people who say statements like “I??ve been hacked”, “I just got killed”, or “I’m poor and need more items”. They’re usually lying, it would encourage more begging and scamming to give them items.

?? There are no cheat codes for RuneScape, and there are no way to get access to any.

?? Try to learn the scams which exist so that you are protected from them. If you check How to Scam in Runescape you will know about, and be protected, from many scams.

?? For a complete article on viruses in Runescape, please read How to Avoid Keyloggers and Viruses in Runescape. This article will explain scams that occur outside of the actual game.

?? The January 2nd update allows you to see the market value, a calculator is no longer needed

?? Officially, it’s almost impossible to say your password out loud now. If you do attempt this, a message in your chat box will alert you of the action and forces you to reconsider. So in other words, the only time you can say it out loud is by saying it backwards, in a different language, an Enigmatic code, etc.

Christmas Poll Results Runescape,Runescape Gold,Runescape Money,Buy Runescape Money

It’s time for the Poll Orks to take a well-earned rest. They’ve been working overtime to make sure that your votes are counted in time. Thank you to everyone that voted in the Guaranteed Content – Christmas 2008 poll. The options were a combination of our own wintery ideas and some excellent suggestions from you, with every event idea having plenty of supporters. These are the winning options that will be making it into December’s event:

Christmas Event - Winner:

Jack Frost has an evil plan. Can you get to him before he covers the whole of RuneScape with ice? – You will need a cool head to foil Jack Frost’s sub-zero plans for Gielinor this Christmas.

Christmas Format - Winner:

A quest is the most popular format for the holiday event this Christmas, so, expect to do some adventuring!

Christmas Rewards - Winner:

It’s been a close race for the top three reward options. The winner is a Santa suit so, if you successfully complete the Christmas quest, you will be rewarded with a cosy costume to warm you up.

Christmas Emote - Winner:

It’s been an even closer race between the top two emote options! What’s clear is that the vast majority of you want to see your character become more than a little bit frosty. The winning option is ‘turning into snow and melting’!

The Poll Orks don’t have a very long break, as we have a brand new poll for you to vote in. There’s an opportunity for you to imagine how different life could be in this week’s Living in RuneScape poll.

Behind the Scenes of the Behind the Scenes:

In the coming months, we’ll be making some changes to the Behind the Scenes, offering you a more attractive look and a better idea of upcoming content. So, if you’d like a tour of what we’ve got in store, please read on…

The first change is screenshots. Instead of just telling you about our updates, we’ll be bringing you images of them in glorious technicolour - and in RuneScape HD, of course.

We’ve also got plans to hint about future content, outside of the month’s releases. The ‘glimpse of the future’ section will include handpicked updates that excite us, and that you’ll be excited about too. So, what better way of getting you used to this new feature than producing one for this Behind the Scenes?

Glimpse of the Future (Updates in development and planned for later than August)

One update that just missed this month’s Behind the Scenes was the Clan Wars update. This is a priority for us, and we’ll be releasing it as soon as we feel it is ready, featuring bucketloads of new arenas and game options, plus two ‘free-for-all’ PVP battlegrounds where you can fight in any way you please. Check out the preview of the Clan Wars setup screen below…

The minigame additions don’t just end with Clan Wars: PvP fans will be pleased to know that there are three PvP minigames planned, all coming in the last few months of the year! If you’re more interested in single-player content, however, you can expect a range of updates to keep you busy. One we can mention now: the concluding part of the Spirit of Summer series will be released at the end of the Summer, and it’ll be throwing some pretty daunting obstacles in your way.

There’s room in the Behind the Scenes for your ideas too, so please feel free to suggest features, articles and additions on the Forums. If your ideas are good enough, you may see them in the larger and improved Behind the Scenes, coming soon!

Runescape,Runescape Gold,Runescape Money,Buy Runescape Money - Wallpaper - Barrows Brothers

The Barrows Brothers, six of the most feared undead creatures on RuneScape, were not always the incarnations of evil that they are now. Once, they were the mightiest of Saradomin’s warriors, their fall orchestrated by a mysterious stranger who visited them in the night, bestowing on them powerful gifts that began to corrupt their pure souls.

Even as the darkness within them grew, they fought on into the heart of Morytania. Our latest wallpaper shows them on the eve of their final battle with the darkness of the east - a battle that took their souls…

Runescape,Runescape Gold,Runescape Money,Buy Runescape Money Are you up for the adventures of helping a poor girl in the wilderness and caging a giant beast? If so, I recommend checking out the Spirit of Summer quest guide. As with all of our guides, we’ve put this one out in a speedy manner with quality still remaining the priority. I’d like to give a special thanks to Noble Truce and Ryan P J for writing the guide!

If you haven’t already noticed, a week ago, we changed some things up on the radio. We introduced 2 new DJs to the team, as well as bringing back two old DJs. Go to the Zybez Radio page to see all of the current DJs.

In other news, we released our Lumbridge/Draynor Achievement Diary Guide a long time ago, so for those of you that haven’t already noticed it, or are bored and want something fairly easy to do, check it out.
Along with adding in the new DJs, I’ve implemented a new request system! Instead of of having to type requests out in the shoutbox, listeners can now visit the DJs playlist and click a song to request it. I believe this will make things much easier for both the DJs and the listeners, so check it out if you haven’t seen it already.

Finally, I’d like to remind you of our Runescape Videos section. With over 1,500 videos and counting, it’s the perfect place to watch funny Runescape music videos, PKing videos, clan wars, and even submit your own videos, so get watching!

07th October, Cambridge, UK. Jagex, the developer and operator of the 3D Java online adventure game RuneScape today announces that it now has more than 130,000 subscribers and has seen a record 60,000 concurrent players. In the same week we have passed the 130,000 subscriber mark for our members game and had a record 60,000 players online at the same time, which shows that our free game continues to grow strongly. The free game now has over 1.5 million active players.’ says Managing Director, Constant Tedder. ‘RuneScape is growing beyond the traditional MMORPG market by attracting new kinds of players. These player love the fact they can just visit our website and begin playing in a couple of minutes, no fuss, no bother, plus it’s free!’ In March 2004 the new version of RuneScape was launched bringing a full 3D MMORPG to the browser for the first time. RuneScape can be played for free unlimited at www.rs2city.com . Players can subscribe at any point for $5/month to gain access to a whole host of benefits including a map that is three times as big, over twice as many quests, whole new skills and priority customer support. Plus members get new content updates every week at no extra cost.

Even though Runescape is a number of years old and has a great following of both free and paid players, there’s still a lot of information that new and seasoned players may not know about how to earn money on the game and be financially self-sufficient - even while buying hundreds of thousands of gold worth of things from other players on a regular basis.

While I no longer play Runescape as heavily as I initially did, the information posted in my blog is still as relevant today for the low to mid-level player trying to get going.

I hope you’ll check it out and leave a note!
