Walkthrough
Starting the quest
1. To start the quest, talk to Grish south of the Castle Wars [map]. Ask him about the Zogres. He will tell you about an underground place. He will also give you 3 Cooked Chompy Birds and 2 Super Stat Restore Potions.

2. Head to the east, and speak to the Ogre Guard standing by the barricades. Tell him about Grish, and he will let you in. Go over the barricades, and go all the way to the end and climb down the stairs to enter the dungeon.

The Dungeon
3. Go to the northwest corner of the dungeon, to a blackened area. A short cinematic sequence will appear. When it’s finished, you will see a Broken Lecturn, a Skeleton and an Ogre Coffin.

4. Search the Broken Lecturn, and you will find a torn page of a Necromantic book.

5. Search the Skeleton. A zombie will appear and attack you. Kill it. Once you’ve killed it, search the skeleton again, and you will find a Ruined Backpack. Inside, you will find a Dragon Inn Tankard, a Knife, and rotten food.

6. Use the knife on the Ogre Coffin west of the skeleton, and then search it to find a Black Prism.
NOTE: If you fail to open it, try until you manage to open it.

Sithik Ints
7. Head to Yanille (use Watchtower teleport to get there faster), and go to the inn. Show the tankard to the bartender, and he will tell you that the tankard belongs to Brentle Vahn. He will also tell you about a wizard.

8. Go to the Wizards’ Guild [map], if you can’t enter it, ring the bell outside. Talk to Zavistic Rarve, and he will tell you about the dark arts. He says that Sithik Ints might have more information.

9. Sithik Ints is located upstairs in the house just north of the Wizards’ Guild. Talk to him, and ask him about the Undead Ogres. You force him to let you search the room. Search the cupboard, the closet and the drawers. You will find 3 books: Book of H.A.M, Necromancy Book and a Book of Portraiture. You will also find some papyrus and charcoal.

10. Read the three books. Then, use the papyrus with Sithik. The sketch you draw must be described as realistic when examining it. If it’s not realistic, search the drawers for more papyrus, and sketch Sithik again.

11. Use the torn page you found earlier in the quest with the Necromancy book.

12. Head back to the inn, and show the portrait you draw to the bartender. He will tell you that it is the man last seen with Brentle Vahn. He will sign the portrait too.

13. Go to the Wizards’ Guild, and show the signed portrait to Zavistic Rarve. Zavistic will give you a strange potion, and tells you that the effect of it won’t revert until Sithik has told the truth.

14. Go back to Sithik Ints’ room, and use the Strange Potion on the Cup of Tea. Then, go downstairs, and go upstairs again. You’ll see that Sithik has turned into an Ogre! Sithik will also tell you everything he knows about the Undead Ogres, how to make brutal arrows used to kill the Zogres, and how to make a cure if you are infected by the zombie disease.

15. If you don’t have the Snake Weed and Rogues Purse, go to Karamja (either by teleporting or by boat), and find the herbs. (see our Jungle Potion quest guide for more info).

16. Use the Rogues Purse to the Water-filled Vial, and then add the Snake Weed. You will get Relicym’s Balm, which cures disease if you’re infected by the zombie disease.

17. Go to Grish, where you started the quest, and he will tell you how to make a Composite Ogre Bow. He will also give you an Ogre Gate Key.

The fight
18. If you don’t have the Achey Logs, go to a place with Achey Trees (see our Big Chompy Bird Hunting guide for more info), cut the trees to get some Achey Logs.
Then, use the the knife on the Achey Logs, while carrying Wolf Bones, and finally, add a bow string. To make the Brutal Arrows, cut the Achey Logs into bow shaft. Then, add feathers to the shaft to get Unflighted Shafts. Finally, add the metal nails to the Unflighted Shafts to get Brutal Arrows.

19. When you have enough arrows to defeat a level 111 enemy, take your armour, food and potions. Note that you do not need to kill the enemy with Brutal Arrows, but it’s way easier. You can also bring a weapon, just incase.

20. Go to the Dungeon east of Grish, where you was in the start of the quest. Go past the two big stone doors, and go down the stairs. Go to the east, and search the stand. A level 111 Slash Bash will attack you.
Note that he drains prayer quickly and use weak ranged. You should use Protect from Melee.

21. When you’ve killed Slash Bash, pick up the Ogre Artifact and the bones. Head back to Grish to claim your reward.

Start: North of Baxtorian Falls, talk to Almera [map].

Needed items:
• Rope (You should have more than one, just in case. Can be bought from Ned in Draynor Village for 15 gp each)
• 6 Air Runes
• 6 Water Runes
• 6 Earth Runes

Recommended items:
• Good weapon and armour
• Prayer Potion
• Food

Walkthrough
Almera [map] tells you that her boy is looking for a treasure in the waterfall. After talking to her, head to the back of her house, and board the raft.

2. You will end up on an island with a bare tree. The boy, Hudan, is also there, so talk to him.

3. After you’ve talked to the boy, use the Rope with the large rock, then with the dead tree, and you will end up at the entrance of the Waterfall dungeon. Do not enter it (you will be hurt), but jump in the barrel and you will fall down the waterfall.

4. Go just north of where you ended up, and you should see a house. Inside is Hadley, talk to him. He will tell you that the area is beautiful and tell you about the life of Baxtorian and his wife.

5. Then, go upstairs and search the bookcase, and you will find a book named “Book on Baxtorian”. Read it, then speak to Hadley again. (If you want, you can go look at the grave of the lady, and you will notice that the tomb has a hole for a pebble. You must get this pebble. But this is NOT required.)

6. The pebble is found in Tree Gnome Village, directly west of the fight arena. To get inside the village, you must go through a hedge maze.

Make your way through the maze until you are south of the Gnome Village, and you will see a ladder. Go down the ladder, into the small dungeon. Then, go east and search the crates/boxes until you find a key.

Then, go to the west side now and open the jail door, by using the big key on the gate. Talk to Golrie, and he will drop lots of junk. Search it to find Glarial’s Pebble.

7. Go back to Ardougne and bank all of your armour, weapons and runes that are in your inventory. Bring food and the pebble.

8. Head to the Tombstone of Glorial, just north-east of Hadley’s tourist info center. Use the pebble on the grave and you will go inside. Note that if you have any armour or runes, you will not be able to get in!

9. Once you’re in the cave, open and search the chest to get Glarial’s Amulet. Then, go to the coffin south of the ladder, and open it. You will get Glarial’s Urn.

10. Exit the tomb, and head back to the bank, and take weapons, armours and food. Prayer Restore Potions are also a good idea, since there will be Shadow Spiders draining your prayer. Also, withdraw your Air, Water and Earth runes. Wear the Amulet, and remember to take the Urn with you, too.

11. Head back to Almera’s House (where you started the quest), and take the raft from behind the house. Just as before, use the rope on the rock to get across, then with the tree. Now, go inside the Waterfall Dungeon.

12. There are three different paths. First, head to the east, past the Shadow Spiders (level 52), and enter the room where there are also Skeleton Mages (level 16) and Skeletons (level 45). Go to the north part of it, and search the crates to find a key.

13. Go back to the entrance, and take the path to the west, and run past the Fire Giants (level 86) - unless you want to fight them. Go to the door in the north, and use the key you just found with it. Then, pick up the next key to use it on the next door. You will enter a room with 6 pillars.

14. Use one Air, Water and Earth rune on each of them. Then, unequip Glarial’s Amulet, and use it on the Statue of Glarial. Then, use the Urn with the Chalice, and you will complete the quest.

NOTE: DO NOT TRY TO TAKE THE CHALICE!!! If you do, you will be swept away, and you will need to get another amulet and start the quest again! (You won’t need to place the runes again though)

To get out of the dungeon, either teleport, or exit it and jump in the barrel like you did earlier in the quest.

How to Avoid Scams in Runescape
There are many ways RuneScape players choose to scam or trick other RuneScape players for personal gain. Such dishonest methods can range from extremely simple to entirely complex. You’ll be surprised by how elaborate a scammer’s scheme might be. Either way, you must keep an eye out for such dishonest pixel-lovers…

Steps

1. Watch the second trade screen closely before accepting. The January 2nd update makes this scam impossible. Because you cannot trade out of the 3k limit (for non-members) and up to 30k for members. Even Mithril is worth more then 3k, so as stated before this no longer applies.

2. Report any trim offers immediately. The January 2nd update makes this scam impossible. All Black, Adamant, and Rune armor are all worth more than 3k, so you cannot trade those items without having equal value. And keep in mind that NO ONE can trim armour in RuneScape. Not even the JMods themselves (unless they have it with them already via magic backpack ^_^)…

3. Know what the “true” value of items are when trading. The January 2nd update makes this scam impossible. Whenever you trade an item it now shows the value of the item

4. Avoid any and all “trust trades”. This may sound like a broken record, but now thanks to The January 2nd update, it makes this scam impossible. You cannot give anyone more then 3k so trust tests cannot be done.

5. Beware of suspicious jobs. Do not attempt to take the Wine of Zamorak for anyone, unless you kill all of the monks first. If they say that you shouldn’t kill the monks, ask them why they don’t get it themselves, then leave. Taking the Wine of Zamorak without killing the Monks causes you Hit Point damage, as well as resulting in all of the monks attacking you. Another pointer is to be wary of a player asking you to do an odd task with them when in the Ardougne area, or anywhere else that contains trapped chests for the purpose of Thieving. One scam around them is telling the player that if they click to open the chest enough times, it will glitch RuneScape and give them a valuable item. Actually, it will just cause you a lot of hitpoints damage due to the trap being triggered. Beware of Runescape players that cozy up to you, act really nice and do you a few small favors but then turn around and ask for something really big (like a Runescape party hat) just because they did a couple of little things for you while playing the game. Remember that all Runescape trades are not equal. You might feel guilty about not giving people anything in return, which is perfectly normal. But if what another Runescape player asks for is ridiculous, just tell them no. Period. If they bully you or keep demanding an unfair Runescape trade just remove them or block them. Besides, nowadays, think of the bright side: uneven trades are almost impossible thanks to the half-loved/half-hated Trade Limit update (from late 2007). Beware of players asking you to smelt limestone if you are low on health. Limestone can cause a moderate amount of damage when smelted, and can kill a low level/player low on health.

6. Keep your password to yourself! This cannot be stressed anymore than it is. Treat your password like a credit card or social security number! Even if it’s a relative or friend right next to you, one action may change your account significantly. People may say things like “Jagex blocks you from saying your password” or “You can’t say your password backwords!” All they are trying to do is get you to say your password out loud so they can log onto your accoutn and change your password. It’s so easy to do it’s unbelievable.

7. Do not ever go to the wilderness to trade. Don’t even come close to the ditch with your valuable items and money. Some players may say they want to trade somewhere close to the north but they are actually trying lure you into the north so that NPCs can kill you. Remember, the wilderness is the only place that is NOT secure for trading and you are likely to be killed by the renevant ghosts.

8. Beware of keystrokes. One common scam is to tell someone that if they drop 5 coins on the ground and hit Atl-F4 it will double. This is not true and Alt-F4 closes your web browser so you can’t stop them from taking the money. Do not press any keys without knowing what they do on your computer first.

Tips

?? Don’t listen to anyone asking to follow them. Most likely, they’ll lead you to the Wilderness & kill you. A suggestion is to tell them that you need to go to the bank first & see how they react. Keep an eye out for your surroundings, if you do decide to follow someone else. Be aware of where you are going at all times. You should never go into an area with another player that you know contains hostile and high leveled creatures such as the Kalphite Queen.

?? Before agreeing to a trade on the forums, ask the player where the trade is going to take place. Sometimes players offer good items for a low price… But want you to meet them in the middle of the Wilderness. If that is the case, you can report them on the Forum Emergencies sticky in the General Forum.

?? You may also want to add the player that you are trading with to the friend list so if they log out and you don’t remember their name you can always copy it from your friend list.

?? Don??t give to people who say statements like “I??ve been hacked”, “I just got killed”, or “I’m poor and need more items”. They’re usually lying, it would encourage more begging and scamming to give them items.

?? There are no cheat codes for RuneScape, and there are no way to get access to any.

?? Try to learn the scams which exist so that you are protected from them. If you check How to Scam in Runescape you will know about, and be protected, from many scams.

Over the years, I have heard hundreds upon hundreds of Runescape Wilderness tips. A lot of them have just been repeated over and over until the information is just common knowledge. So first I will share what I do when I plan to PK, then I will move on to some other Runescape Wilderness tips.

When I am preparing to go to the wilderness I first will put on a Rune platebody, some Rune Platelegs, and a Rune Scimitar. These are my “three things” that you cannot loose unless you’re skulled. Then I head over to the Grand Exchange and buy about 100 Tuna Fish. They are cheap, and heal a fair amount of health. I will grab any other items I may need and then fill the rest of the inventory with the Tuna. Normally I am venturing out there to kill Greater Demons, and the rules pretty much are the same for when I am PKing. I almost never attack someone. That will get you skulled and then you risk it all. However, if you can find someone, normally they will attack you. If they do not attack you right off, brag about how nooby they are and tell them to prove their power. Anything you can to get them skulled and not you. Now, if you see a guy with about half of his health bar down, and you know you can beat him, go ahead and attack. But be weary, you never know who is lurking in the shadows.

Now let me give you some tips I have heard through the ages.

Back when I was a lower level, I said I was going to go PKing, and they told me to wait and get level 25 prayer. This will allow you to keep one extra item. I really don’t use this prayer anyways, but it’s a good skill to have just in case. I have also heard that even if you have a skull on your head it will protect an item. I will have to look into this; maybe I could have been saving all those rune scimitars I lost, Haha.

Another good idea would be to wear ranger’s armor if you’re a meelee. You would be safe from Mages, and a lot of PKers are mages now. But you might want to keep a spare plate body, just incase some ranger came out of the darkness.

I would recommend getting about 45 prayer so that you will be able to use protection spells incase of an attack. Once they see that little symbol pop up, they will know they are doomed.

If you can get a group of friends that you can trust, group PK’s are definitely the best. I remember once I was out in the wilderness and all of a sudden on my map a flood of people, probably at least 70 of them were rushing at me. They were all in pink skirts and I was dead so fast that they all didn’t even get there yet.

If you have ever heard of the Muddy Chest and you are wondering where it is in the Runescape Wilderness, then you have come to the right place. The Muddy Chest can be located in the Lava Maze right in the center. Watch out for the Lesser Demons that prowl around there. The chest can be opened by one key, and only one key. The key is called the Muddy Key. You can obtain one from killing the Chaos Dwarfs. The chest will contain random items such as an anchovy pizza, an uncut gem, so on so fourth.

This runescape guide is to help you with castle wars. as you may have guessed. Some people like it and some don’t, but it was an interesting addition to Runescape. and one which I am sure was a good one.
Now go down to the first floor and take the lit candle that respawns on the table (if you don’t already have a lit candle). Also if you don’t have a bat bone yet, you can get them now. There is a dungeon just East of the Watchtower (location #2). Cut through the webs and go down the stairs. Kill a bat to get bat bones.
First you will need to talk to Og the Ogre. Exit Yanille through the West gate and you come to the ogre settlement (location #3). Speak with him and he will help you - but only after you have helped him. Og will give you a key and ask you to retrieve his gold bar that was stolen by Toban the Ogre.
Now go back to the Watchtower wizard (location #1) and use the items on him. He will give you an ogre statue when you give him all the 3 parts. With the statue, you can now enter the Ogre city and get the runescape gold , which you need.

30. Runescape gold guide, the seventh.
There are two teams, both taking from the runescape gold. When you enter the arena you can choose from 3 portals. Zamorak (red), Saradomin (blue) and Guthix (green). If you enter the Guthix portal then you are placed in a random team. The guthix portal teleports you to whichever team has less players, Saradomin or Zamorak. The Zamorak is red. Saradomin is blue. If you are on the winning team then you get 2 castle wars tickets. If both teams tie, then everyone receives one ticket. In addition, you may turn into a bunny, rabbit, sheep, or imp inside the waiting lobby by wearing a god item (not armour) into the portal; this may not always work.
Now you will come to your next obstacle (location #12). You will come to a bridge with a rock that you need to jump off (to jump, simply click on the rock). Try to jump and you will be stopped by the guard and you’ll have to pay 20gp to jump. If you jump successfully, you will end up on the other side.
Go over the bridge and you’ll see some city guards (location #13). At there , you may find some runescape gold.
